I don’t want well thought out texts or validation through posts on social media. I want love letters and someone to come up to my door instead of just texting "here". One day I don't want to have to tell my children I met their dad on an online dating site or that he "slid into my dm's". What happened to "I want to take you out. I'll pick you up Friday at 7"? What happened to chivalry all together? I don't want "Netflix and chill". I don't want to swipe right to find my future partner. It’s virtual, easy and risk-free, which is the epitome of dating this generation.
Gone are
the days of guys giving up their jackets for a girl that's cold. Rejection
comes in the form of being "left on read" and being broke up with
over text message. Everything is done behind the facade of technology. You know why Netlfix and movies are a common hangout activity for us millennials? Because it takes away the silence that genuine conversation would typically fill. But that would be too hard wouldn't it. We want it easy.
