I'll Never Regret Having A Relationship In College And Neither Should You

College is stressful, there's no doubt about that. Between the endless hours of studying, the constant tests, the loads of extracurriculars that you so badly want to take part in, there's not much room for anything else.

While being in a relationship in college sounds like it might just be an added stress, having that person always there is actually nothing shy of amazing. My boyfriend is the person that I lean on after a hard day of tests and homework, my advice giver, my other half, the person that I would never trade for the world.

Going into college was scary enough, but having that support system for both myself and him was and is benefiting me more than words can describe. Here are five reasons that coming into college with a boyfriend was the best decision I've made.

1. Someones always got your back

No matter what you're going through with class or missing home, it's always nice to have someone that is there at the end of the day. Whether it's a cuddle session or a simple hug, having someone to take your mind off of things is the best way to deal with stress. Plus, having someone that you trust to talk about the hard stuff and gain advice from is the most comforting feeling.

2. You never have to feel like you need to dress up

When you're single, there's sometimes an added pressure to dress up to get someone to go out with you, but when you already have a significant other, there's no shame in coming home from class and throwing on a baggy t-shirt and sweats. Now, don't get me wrong, dressing up for your partner is nice, but knowing they still love you and think you're beautiful without the extra effort is a perk.

3. You can meet so many people

Making friends and meeting people in college is hard enough. When you're in a relationship in college, not only do you get the chance to make your own friends, but you also get the chance to make friends with your significant other's friends. You are given an opportunity to hear perspectives of people you might not have met without being in a relationship. Because of this, you are able to hear a new perspective and learn from new people. That's what college is all about right?

4. You learn so much about yourself

College is a time of self-growth and learning about yourself. Dating in college is the perfect opportunity to figure out what you want in a partner and what you deserve. You are able to start developing standards for how you think you should be treated and expectations that you might not have thought that you had until someone you're with doesn't live up to them.

5. You can have your own life even though you're in a relationship

Being in a relationship in college holds a stigma that you can't have your own life or experience things on your own, but that's the farthest thing from the truth. You still have days to yourself, days with your girls, you can still do everything that you could do without a partner, but now, you just have another added bonus. The only way that a relationship can hold you back from having these moments is if you let it.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
