Whether we like to admit it or not, dating in college is a completely different ballgame than dating in high school. In college, you don't get to see the same people everyday, and chances are, the cute guy you made heart eyes at across the quad won't be seen ever again. Regardless of when you get thrown into the dating pool, there is no denying that it is awkward from start to finish, and as I am wrapping up my binge watching of all the seasons of MTV's "Awkward," I've noticed that some situations are all too familiar. Here are 15 ways that dating in college is like one of TV's most beloved shows.
1. Thinking all boy problems can be solved with a girls night.
2. When he says you're not his usual "type."
3. Wanting to have an actual conversation with a guy but all he keeps asking for is your Snapchat.
4. When your roommate brings a guy home for the first time and you try to figure out his life story in five minutes.
5. Trying to convince your guy friends to set you up with one of their fraternity brothers.
6. When you've been hooking up with a guy for weeks and still haven't caught the feels.
7. Finding out that half the guys you're attracted to are dating girls that are still in high school
8. Getting the "come watch movies in my dorm" text at 3 a.m.
9. Having those friends that try to set you up with somebody every weekend.
10. When the guy you're casually seeing tries to cause an argument.
11. Being hours away from the one person you wanna tell about all of it.
12. Your best friend when she finds out you're dating the guy she introduced you to.
13. Giving up and turning to your older sister for dating advice.
14. When your 10-year plan doesn't include getting serious about a guy.
15. But when you finally become exclusive with the guy you've been sorta seeing for months.
Maybe you won't find your soulmate in college. Or maybe you will. Whether or not you decide to get involved in the dating world, it can be undoubtedly awkward. It's up to you to make the most of it.
