Dating a hockey player is exciting, to say the least. There is something unique about them. Maybe it’s the hair that they refuse to cut? Whatever it is, they definitely have a way of stealing hearts.

If you are dating a hockey player, there are some things you need to know.

First of all, get ready to be runner-up to his teammates. There will be times where his team is going to be his number one priority, and you will come second, but that’s okay. These people are his family. The closer they are off of the ice, the better they will work together on the ice.

So, if you ever feel you’ve been put on the back burner, you probably have, but don’t worry. Although it may not always seem like it, his relationship with you means just as much to him as his relationship with his team.

A trait most hockey players have is that they are extremely confident. No matter what he does, whether it’s walking, talking, singing, or anything else, chances are he’s doing it with confidence. It’s the kind of confidence that’s admirable, but not cocky.

He knows his worth and makes sure you know yours as well. If you’re anything like me, this is probably one of your favorite things about him.

What comes with his confidence is how outgoing he is. The first time you met him was probably a breeze, and the first date was most likely one of the easiest dates you’ve ever been on. He can strike up a conversation with anyone, about anything. When you took him to meet your parents, you were probably more nervous than he was.

He loves meeting new people, and almost always wants to be with people. He has a way of making anyone he interacts with feel important and valued. This is probably one of the reasons you fell for him.

One of the best things about dating a hockey player is, every day will be an adventure. He will constantly be doing anything and everything he can to keep you happy, even though just being with him is enough. You can expect spontaneous road trips, your car getting decorated while you’re at work, and dinner dates with a cute photo shoot afterward (if this sounds specific, it's because all of this actually happened). He will always want to be doing something, whether it’s going for a walk or playing corn hole in the backyard.

Trust me, he will have enough energy for the both of you, and no matter what, he will always keep your life exciting.

Along with the adventures will come constant laughter. Chances are, everything he does makes you laugh or smile. His personality beats all others and you’ve most likely never been with someone who makes you as happy as he does. He constantly radiates a happiness that is contagious. Simply being in his presence makes you the happiest girl in the world, which is one of the greatest feelings. Every moment spent with him is genuine and cherished.

You don’t have to date a hockey player to find this kind of happiness, but I know all of these things are true about my hockey player, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. Every story is unique, and special. This is just a part of mine and I couldn’t be happier with where I am right now. I can, without a doubt, say dating this hockey player is definitely one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
