As millennials,
some of us may be dating in college or we just started that new job and we are trying to save some money. To me, a date is about the effort that is put into it, not about how much money was dropped. When the wallet is feeling empty, try to get creative & innovate.
Here are some perfect date ideas for you money-savers out there, just in time for Valentines Day!
Netflix marathon with your favorite movie snacks. Shameless is the best binge show by the way.
Karaoke night. Get up there & sing your hearts out or have fun watching other people belt out songs. Either way, it's a great way to step out of your comfort zone together.Brewery & winery tours. They are actually cheaper than you would think & usually you end any tour with a bunch of free samples in your belly. So it's a win win.
Bowling + cheap pizza + cheap beer. You can't go wrong. You can always make it a double date with friends!
Morning workout + coffee. You would be surprised about how nice this can be. After the workout, take a stroll around the neighborhood with your yummy drinks. It's the perfect date before having a productive day.
Find the dive bars in town. Every dive bar has cheap drinks and a lively atmosphere if you are looking to get out & party on your date night.
Go explore. It's always fun discovering some awesome places with your significant other. Take a hike, or walk downtown, you never know what you may find! In the summer, maybe hit up a food truck downtown, or 5.
Cooking on a cold night in. My boyfriend & I recently cooked a big Italian meal & it turned into a really cute date night. Get some good wine & you're all set.
Board games. There are actually a lot of 2-person games out there to use for date night. I know that I get a little competitive, so don't let that ruin the date!
Get outside & toss the baseball around. You would be surprised at how fun this can be when the sun is setting on a summery night. If there is a local team in your area, check it out! Usually tickets can be pretty cheap on a summer weekday night.
Shop at the local farmers market. Even if you don't buy anything, it is still fun to look around & try new things.
Cuddle up by the bonfire. You can always tell stories and have some good one on one time (it's a great way to really get to know someone.) Don't forget to pack the smores stuff!
Tubing down the river in the summer. This can be a fun Saturday date during the warmer months! Pull out the kayaks or the inflate tubes, either way you'll have a great time. Fishing is another fun outdoor activity! I am not great at it, but it's nice just doing something together outdoors.
Lastly, don't forget to indulge in those seasonal festivities together- go apple picking in the fall & grill outside or go camping in the summer!Happy dating!
