This is for every girl who's been put down, and told "you're not good enough" or "you're not worth it". This is for the girl who is always strong until she's alone, then she breaks. This is for the girl who's always trying to make other people happy before herself. This is for the girl who's heart has been broken too many times. This is for the girl who has had her heart broken by the one person she thought wouldn't. This is for the girl who musters up the willpower and strength to smile the next day after crying the night before.

This is for the unbreakable girl, who broke. This is for the girl who sleeps to forget. This is for the girl who drinks to forget. This is for the girl who always is smiling but deep inside is crying her eyes out. This is for the girl who has anxiety and depression but takes on every day with more willpower and strength than the last. This is for the girl who's wanted to end her life because she couldn't see a reason to live anymore.

This is for the girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. This is for the girl who has never had it easy. This is for the girl who has so many secrets but a soul will never know them. This is for the girl who has regrets and makes mistakes, because after all, we are only human. But most importantly, this is for you, reading this.

You matter. You're beautiful. You're worth it. You're strong. You're that sunshine mixed with a little hurricane. You've got this. People will alway be there to put you down. But they're just another obstacle in your life. You make your own happy. You're the most important person in your life. Life is tough, darling. But so are you.

So don't let those dull, petty things dull your sunshine. So light up the night. Your smile will bring light into someone else's day. Believe in yourself a little more because you are worth it. You are beautiful and should know it. Stay classy and keep your head high. Because you are loved. Darling, you matter.

And if you don't think so, take it from a girl who didn't believe she was either. Take it from the girl who is all of the things above and so much more. Take it from someone who knows. Because sweetie, you're not alone. You never are. And if no one will listen I will. Because you matter, so much. You matter to me.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
