Poetry On Odyssey: Your Dark And Your Light

We are all lost in our minds.

He had a head full of stars,

Kept himself together even though he was constantly falling apart,

Blood dripped from the knife wounds covering his back,

His eyes were black from the endless night terrors,

Clothes hung on his body as if he had lost his appetite for the bullshit he was constantly fed,

Sitting alone at the water's edge he stared into the distance,

The air was still and the water calm,

A full moon hung low barely kissing the earth,

Not a single star could be seen in the sky above,

He questioned everything about his life,

Memories flooded his head, some filled with love and the others dread,

The ones of dread made dark spots in his head and attempted to dim the stars that danced so effortlessly around his head,

Will he ever find comfort?

Will there be an end?

The man had guts,

He’d seen a lot and experienced more,

It was taking a toll on his body and mind,

But his spirit pulled him through,

As his thoughts began to blacken, he buried his head in his arms,

Tears began to fall,

And as they did,

The grass beneath him became soiled with a faint glowing shimmer of blues, greens, and gold,

The wind began to pick up,

And a voice whispered in his ear,

“The answers to the questions you seek are right in front of you, no need to question further, but to look and you will see someone who cares, someone who wants to be there. look for that light that never goes out... they are there and always have been... just in the background... waiting. Look before it’s too late...”

His body shuddered,

Every hair on his body stood up,

He lifted his head to find the water roaring with life,

And hanging over was a dim light,

It was not the moon,

It was a being, you could feel love radiating off of this creature,

He suddenly noticed that the grass around him shimmered,

It was star dust,

And it began to pour out of him at a magnificent rate and rise up to fill the sky,

The stars began to show again,

And he felt at last he could let go,

He didn’t have to go it alone,

He’d always be there for himself,

But he knew if he fell there’d be someone to hold his hand along the way.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
