As someone who goes out casually at college, only to get a slice of pizza at the end of the night, music at crammed parties is great for me.

Well anyone really.

I might not be a DJ, and I might have really old taste in music, but here's a list of songs that I've complied that I've heard a couple of times I've gone out.

These are usually the songs that get the most hype, lyric belting, and crazy fun and dancing.

1. Ocean Avenue, Yellowcard (2004)

Rock and a violin with some hard hitting lyrics. With its opening heavy guitar vibes, everyone goes wild during the chorus. You see everyone with their fist in the air belting the chorus out like it's 2004 when the song was introduced.

Plus, who doesn't like a good, solid alternative rock song anyway?

2. House Party, Sam Hunt (2015)

One of the newest songs on my list to date, Sam Hunt's "House Party" is a classic to the night-life scene. It makes you want to let Sam Hunt come to your own house and help throw a party... Oh, if only that could happen. The chorus speaks for itself, "we'll have a house party we don't need nobody." This country song takes the cake with its pop-like feel.

3. Ignition (Remix), R. Kelly (2003)

Not to be mistaken for the original version, R.Kelly's "Ignition" is always playing out of someone's speakers. The chorus is always song, and it's great to hear people try to get as high as they can when singing "and after the show is the after party, after the party is the hotel lobby." I've cracked my voice trying to achieve the perfect falsetto.

"Can I get a toot toot? Beep beep," was always welcome with the 'I'm driving a car and using the horn' dance move.

4. All Night Longer, Sammy Adams (2012)

Even if you're someone like me who literally only dances at parties whenever they decide to be social, you love saying that you know all of the alcoholic beverages mentioned in wild-boy Sammy Adams song. Sure... He really tells you what to tell the bartender, but he's obviously having a good time.

It makes you want to have fun all night, the chorus getting everyone hyped and pumped.

5. 1985, Bowling for Soup (2004)

A blast from the past, the lyrics to this song make anyone think that they know all of the things that 1985 had to offer. Seemed like a great year... But we're all happy that we can blast out the words, without a care in the world.

6. In Da Club, 50 Cent (2003)

It might not be your birthday, but you are definitely getting down to this song. And sure... You might know exactly what 50 Cent is saying, but you're still confused as to how he raps and runs on a treadmill in the music video.

Plus, killer old school vibing beat, it'll always make you bob your head up and down.

7. Hey Ya, Outkast (2003)

Shake it like a Polaroid picture and go back to a time when you were in elementary school. This song being the go-to dance craze at school dances.

Everyone dances and has fun to this song. A classic really, you can never go wrong having Outkast bring your day better. It literally puts a smile on your face when you hear it.

8. Stacy's Mom, Fountains of Wayne (2003)

Catchy and funny, this song makes you want to name your future kid Stacy so that you'll be Stacy's Mom. Is there anything more to say about it?

9. Love Drunk, Boys like Girls (2009)

Not your average classic, this song might be strange to have on here. It's pop-punk beat with its catchy motif about drinking and romance is great. My friends and I when we have a fun night always come across this song and have an amazing time listening to it.

10. All Star, Smash Mouth (1999)

This song, like "Hey Ya!" is a classic. You'll be flashing the L on your forehead when you hear this song come on... That and probably be thinking of the movie Shrek.

11. Yeah!, Usher (2004)

A young Usher, Ludacris, and Lil' John all on one song, what could be better? Take this song and rewind it back a lot; it's always played.

Confession: I once made a rule with my roommate in our agreement that you had to clap to Usher's Yeah every time you heard it... Needless to say, it's still by far my favorite rule.

.

12. 7/11, Beyonce (2014)

I mean, I really like Beyonce a lot so I had to put her in here somehow. "7/11" has a killer beat and make anyone think they can slay just like her. But, we all know we can't be as flawless as her.

13/14. Dance, Dance and Sugar We're Going Down, Fall Out Boy (2005)

I felt obligated somehow to put both of these songs together. They each have their uniqueness to them, but also give us a wonderful flashback to old Fall Out Boy. Dance, Dance and Sugar We're Going Down have hard punk rock beats and some great lyrics that you can't help but sing to.

Have fun, be safe and never forget that it's very acceptable to belt out all of the lyrics.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
