Damn Daniel: Person Of The Year

Damn Daniel is a Twitter video that went viral this week and shows clips of a boy named Daniel being admired by his friend, the guy recording it. Check it out if you haven't yet!

The first time I saw the video I thought it was cute but nothing special. People record their friends at school all the time, no big deal. Then I thought about it for a second and decided to watch it again -- you know, just to make sure I got the full experience. (OK, I know that's unnecessary, but it was late and things tend to be funnier the second time, so why not give it another shot?)

And here's where they got me. The narrator's flawless mention of the white Vans was just what I needed to fully understand what an icon Daniel is. And look at those layers! You can't go wrong with the layered look, guys.

In the 30 seconds it takes to watch this video we go on a journey of friendship and style. The voice we hear is Daniel's friend Josh, who likes to document when Daniel looks particularly stylish and put it on his Snapchat story. Both are students at Riverside High School in California, which I figure must be a great school to have a champ like Daniel attending.

This is a more casual look, featuring a hoodie and non-Vans. Usually, I'm not a fan of sweatpants in public (personal preference), but combined with that hoodie and those slightly high-top shoes, and he's still killing it! He knows it too. We see you trying to show off those ankles, Daniel.

Ah yes, the return of the classic white Vans and a black t-shirt really bring out the maroon-ness of his backpack. Ideal for any situation. The fact that Josh didn't just say that the Vans are nice is what gets me. "Back at it again with the white Vans" makes it so much more interesting. When was he last at it with the Vans? When will he be again? The anticipation is killing me.

For those of you interested in getting Daniel's look, you can get your very own white Vans here!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
