This one's for you.

Daisy,

I must have written over 50 different paragraphs before realizing that there is no way to fully encompass in words just how much you meant to everyone you knew. Reading the messages and looking at the pictures from our friends made my heart ache and miss you more than usual. However, I know that taking amoment to reflect on your time with us helps us to remember that we are not alone in how we feel. This one is for all of us- beyond just the ones in this article. To remember you in all the ways you changed our lives for the better just by knowing you.

But ultimately, this one is for you. This is a way for us to celebrate your life and your unwavering spirit that stays with us every day. Life and love are among God’s greatest blessings and we were lucky to have had living proof of this through your friendship.

It has been 365 days since we’ve seen you, but we know you’re shaking your head and laughing at us for all the ridiculous things we’ve done since then (don't hate me for trying wine in a bag this past year). God’s timing is always perfect, and you are so loved by those who feel your presence everyday. From a few of the many people who knew you- Thank you, Daisy. May you rest in peace forever.

Last week in Texas visiting you at A&M, forever in my heart beb.

Thank you for all the great memories you gave me Daisy. You always brought life and light to everyone’s lives and it was impossible not to smile when you were around. I hope you are resting in paradise you gorgeous angel. I miss you so much. -Amanda Avila

It’s been a year. It’s been a year since Daisy left, and I can still hear her laugh and picture the face she would make when I did something dumb. I miss getting junk food at drive thru’s together, taking late night trips to Walmart, and going on weekend road trips with her. It’s the little things that meant the most to me. I wish she were here to see everything that has happened this past year. So many things remind me of her and have her name written all over it... I wish she were here. -Amy Harrah

Daisy was one of the realest people I’ve ever known. She always spoke her mind, she really cared what people thought of her, and it was absolutely refreshing. Along with being incredibly honest, she had a heart of gold. She was one of the most caring people I’ve ever met and by just being herself, she taught me so much about life and relationships. Every single day, she pushed me to be a better version of myself. More importantly, she taught me how to be bold. She pushed me to take risks, to welcome the future mystery of the future, and to live every aspect of life with a burning passion. I wouldn’t be the man I am today if it wasn’t for the relationship I had with that wonderful girl. I miss her every day, and even though she’s gone, the kindness she showed me and the lessons she taught me are going to last me a lifetime. -Christian Quincena

It's been one year and it's true not a day has gone by you haven't crossed my mind. Thank God each and every memory we have together were nothing less than good times. This means that not a single day has gone by in the past year you haven't made me smile or laugh. Thanks for being such a light in my life from the moment we became best friends and still every day since then. -Chandler Dawson

Daisy Baez, crazy, loud, difficult, and she could also be hard headed sometimes. But what I remember most about Daisy is caring, strong, adamant, and she stood up for you. She placed others first before herself, she was self-sacrificing, giving, and also a great joy. The presence that Daisy had on people were astonishing. For me, it was family. She was such a loving and caring individual...Daisy had a kind heart, and that’s what I loved about her the most. She was one of the few people who really understood me and knew everything about me. From our times taking pictures trying to be Brian Puspos and Aja Dang, to filming a video that won nationally, to our trip to Louisville, to our game talks, to hanging around Bentwater with Christian’s family, to watching Christian and I make covers, from being my wingman, watching fast and furious, talking about Bart and Geo, and most importantly, just being a genuine person. To me, you will always be considered family, and you will always be close to my heart. I hope you are watching over me, we love and miss you Daisy. -Jeremiah Velasco

Daisy, It’s so crazy a year has gone by without you by my side. You were such a bright spirit and an amazing friend. Even though you’re physically not here anymore, I still feel your presence around me and it just makes me smile to know you’re in a happy place now. I miss all the crazy unforgettable nights, talking for hours and hours about the most random things, and just doing “fufu” stuff with you. Life really hasn’t been the same. Your life was such a blessing during and after your time here. Without you, I wouldn’t have been able to survive College Station. You taught me so many valuable lessons that helped form the person I am today. Because of you, I learned to never take life for granted, appreciate the little things, and to always live life with a smile on my face, just like you did. You were such a light in my life and your spirit continues to shine on. I love you, Daisy! -Lynn Mendoza

Continue to light up the sky with your beautiful light Daisy girl. We love and miss you -Drew Glover

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. It seems pretty easy to do, and in high school all we wanted to do was graduate and move on to this next chapter of our lives. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
