12 Things All Dads Are Guilty Of, As Told By Phil Dunphy

So if you're like me you grew up a total daddy's girl. Yes, you loved your parents equally but there were so many daddy-daughter dances, father's retreats, & events that made you fall in love with him in such a special way. He paved the way for how any other guy better treat you & became your best friend all at once. Here are some prime examples of things only dads get to do because, well, they're dads.

1. They're always with the times.

2. They're humble in the best ways.

3. Puns? They got em.

4. They have this weird "I'm serious but it's hilarious" thing going on.

5. They aren't the best at thinking things through.

6. They have an endless pit of comebacks within their brains.

7. They still try to flirt with your mom & it's so weird.

8. They're just another one of the kids.

9. Subtle? Not so much.

10. They don't even realize they say things like this...

11. They keep reminding themselves to do things we all know mom will end up doing.

12. Even though he is the goofiest person ever, no matter what, they're always there for you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
