To My Dad

Even dads need to be recognized

To My Dad

Alright I want to give a big shout out to my dad, I know most girls have a better bond with their mother then they do their father which is normal. I just feel that dads don't get recognized for the things they do. My dad is one of the greatest guys you will ever meet, well at least in my eyes he is the best. My dad, to me is someone I can look up and admire, he has taught me so many things through out my life it is crazy to even think about. He is a man that has taught me that life just doesn't hand you things, you have to be able to work for them. Sure my dad and I have had our fights I would yell at him he would yell at me, but in the end we would always be able to say sorry to each other and move on. He has shown me what it means to be a good a person and that sometimes you mess up in life, but you can't let it keep you down you have to get back up brush yourself off and keep going. The most important thing that me dad has done for me is not given up on me, neither of my parents have given up on me. My dad has helped me understand a lot of things about what is going on in the world, and has made me think about what my future is going to look like. So to other people he might look like just a dad that loves his daughter and wants the best for her, even if she doesn't agree with what he wants her to do, but to me he is the dad that has never given up on me and is also pushing me to do better, be better, and work harder. I see see a man who is not only my father, but a man who cares about the people that are around him and will do everything in his power to makes sure the people in his life are happy. I will never be abel to repay my dad for what he has done fore me through out these years, but the best thing I can do for him is take the lessons that he has taught and continue to g through life listening and learning. I know it is jus as scary to see me grow up as it is for me to grow up, in one eye he will see me as the adult i am becoming, but in the other eye I will be his little girl that will always need his protection.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
