My dad and I don't always see eye-to-eye, especially when it comes to current trending topics. One day, I decided to ask him what he thought on some of the current hot news. Feel free to LOL at some of his responses.

1. Kanye West

Dad: "Arrogant." I asked what he thought about West's music. His response? "I don't."

Me: I like his old music. I hate him; he is overrated and his recent music sucks.

2. Nordstrom's rock in a pouch for $85

Dad: "I feel sorry for the sucker who buys it," which was followed with, "I must be a billionaire! I have a lot of rocks in the backyard!"

Me: WTF.

3. Uncle wearing suit for his newborn niece because "first impressions matter"

Me: OK, this is so adorable! I think it's great that a young person knows how important first impressions are, because we all are guilty of forgetting that.

Dad: "It's awesome he put forth the effort to be respectful in meeting his niece for the first time. There will be pictures taken and his niece will see that her uncle felt it was important [to look his best]."

4. "Hollyweed" sign

Dad: "Dumb. If people spent their time doing something productive instead of stupid we could have more problems solved."

Me: LMAO. What a hilarious way to start 2017! It is gonna be a rad year.

5. Mariah Carey's NYE performance

Dad: "Unprofessional, but funny." I then asked his thoughts on how Mariah is now blaming a different people for the fiasco: "She needs to take responsibility, too. It's her performance. She is not entitled, big, or important to blame everyone else for it."

Me: I didn't watch it, but I heard about it and thought it was kind of funny. I'm not a huge Mariah fan, and I think she's a brat, so naturally I thought it was ironically funny.

I encourage you to ask your parents, guardians and family what their opinions are. I hope it doesn't end in a family feud!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

CSU

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
