From the minute I was held in his arms to the minute I graduated he has always been there.
My father is a man of many things as most fathers are but I wanted to thank my dad for the little things he does for me to help me decide my career path. He has always been in my corner cheering me on to do my very best even if he knew I wasn't the best on the team.
Dad sparked my interest in agriculture by moving the entire family to a farm and making me show cattle for 4-H. When in high school he asked if I wanted to join FFA since it was such a big inspiration to him when he was in school; to be surprised he was right FFA changed my life. Through high school, he helped me decide where to attend college and what degree would be best fit for me in the agriculture workplace.
As a kid dad was always the man to take me to and from dance practice and games if mom couldn't. Our car rides of just the two of us either jamming out to old Tim McGraw or just him listening to me talk about everything that happened to me that day; those rides were something I always looked forward to and still do to this day.Now that I'm older now though my dad and daughter car rides have slimmed down to the point where one of my brothers is with us so neither of us can talk due to the boy in the back, but when the moment happens that its just dad and I in the car I'm truly thankful for it.
Me and my brothers always thought dad was the cool parent when it came to certain things (no offense mom) such as grocery shopping, family night, and when friends came over. When dad and mom would go grocery shopping us kids would go with dad as he walked around getting junk food and sneaking it back into the cart when mom wasn't looking. Now for my family nights it usually consisted of a movie and whatever anyone wanted/ would make, as mom would consider a kid-friendly movie dad would choose a comedy or scary movie because that's what he wanted and us kids just went along with it.
Finally, dad taught me what a man should treat women like and how to respect and care for them. Dad would tell me "Your worth more than you believe" and now I understand what he meant by that. Dad showed me and my brothers what true love and compassion looks like from him and mom every day. He may joke and say dumb things as mom would say but I wouldn't change him for the world.
Those are just some of the few things that my dad has taught me and made me realize just how special I am to have a role model and father to look up to every day.
Thank you dad for teaching me respect, kindness, compassion, and most important honor.
