5 Reasons Why Dachshunds Are The Best Dogs Ever

Dachshunds, wiener dogs, sausage dogs. Whatever you may call them, dachshunds are hands down the best dogs ever. I have had four dachshunds in my life (along with 3 other breeds of dogs), and they are seriously the best. They have the best personality, love to cuddle, and are adorable. What isn't to love about them?

Here are five reasons why dachshunds are the best dogs ever.

1. Hotdog costumes

Who doesn't love a tiny little dachshund running around looking like a hotdog? They are the only dog that looks okay wearing the hotdog Halloween costume. If any other dog wears it, it just looks stupid.

2. Derby races

They may be small, but they sure can run around at the speed of lightning. My house is constantly filled with tiny little "derby races" as I like to call them. They run up and down the halls all day and never run out of energy which provides constant entertainment.

3. They love to cuddle

Dachshunds are the best dogs to cuddle with. They love to burrow under blankets and sleep right next to you for warmth. It is the cutest thing ever.

4. They aren't afraid of anything

One thing I have learned from my years of experience with dachshunds is that they don't let their size stop them. They act like they are just as big as any other animal, and will do anything. They are tiny little daredevils.

5. They crave attention

Dachshunds constantly need attention. They will sit up on their back legs like a prairie dog and will beg for you until you look at them. While this can get annoying at times, you know that they will always want to be loved.

While I think that dachshunds are the greatest dogs in the world, all of the other breeds of doggos are cute in their own way too.

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
