I love writing basically whatever I feel like writing every week, but sometimes it feels like there are too many options. The irony; essentially no restrictions, yet every week I can't seem to think of a topic. Here are 10 thoughts we have here at Odyssey every week when deadline is approaching:
1. What should I write about this week?
2. Why am I having trouble hitting a 300 word mark?
*finally thinks of a good topic* This should't be hard...I always have a lot to say.
3. Who designed the Muse website?
Seriously....Muse needs a makeover! More than once have I logged in to go over an article again, and it's gone.
4. Why does adding in gifs and photos take longer than writing the actual article?
Don't you dare think you're done after just writing. Oh no, that's only step one. Now it's time to search for gifs and photos and upload every.single.one. to the beloved muse
5. *finds the perfect cover photo* Doesn't fit.
Time to hit up Pixlrexpress.
6. Why is coming up with a meta title description so difficult?
I feel like it never fits my article as much as it should.
7. Ahh yes, finally finished.
Happy dance.
8. *article goes live* Of course, now I notice typos.
The worst is when you find...the dreaded "your" "you're" mixup. How will I ever come back from this?
9. Does everyone have this many difficulties?
Just keep telling yourself "yes."
10. Time to start over again
It's really never over. An article goes live and it's time to jump back to #1. Don't let this fool you though, it's a love-hate relationship. We wouldn't do it if we didn't want to.
