In today's world, there is so much negativity floating around the internet because of politics, natural disasters, celebrity gossip, etc. It can be so easy to get caught up in it all. If you're feeling like you need something to take your mind of off the craziness and boost your mood, look no further.

On January 25, 2017, the Smithsonian's National Zoo started what would come to be called the #CuteAnimalTweetOff when it posted an adorable picture of a newborn gray seal pup. This inspired other zoo's across the nation to respond with cute pictures of their own animals. In case you haven't had the time to check out these tweets for yourself, here is the ranking of top six cutest baby animals in the #CuteAnimalTweetOff.

1. Gray Seal Pup (Smithsonian's National Zoo)

The seal pup that started it all has to come in first place. If it weren't for this cutie, the whole world would not have been blessed with this adorable Twitter war. Thank you, baby seal pup.

Tweeted with the caption: We welcomed a gray seal pup Jan. 21. The pup appears to be nursing, moving & bonding well w/ mom.

2. Mother And Baby Otters (Monterey Bay Aquarium)

Otters are all the rage right now. That's why this mother and pup combo take the number two placement. To add to the cuteness, the baby otter is sleeping snuggled up to its mom.

Tweeted with the caption: Can we to yesterday's ? May its memory bring us all the warm fuzzies forever.

3. Baby Cheetah And Lab Puppy (Columbus Zoo)

At number three, we have another animal duo. This time, it is a baby cheetah and a puppy. Cheetahs in captivity are often paired with a dog at a young age to help the cheetah to deal with social anxiety that is caused by the crowd of people at the zoo. The two grow up together and remain good friends into adulthood.

Tweeted with the caption: Paws down, we have the cutest animal duo!

4. Baby Lemur (Maryland Zoo)

The Maryland Zoo answered back to the Twitter war with this picture of a baby Sifaka Lemur. This little lemur called back memories of watching Zoboomafoo as a kid and gets a cuteness bonus for being so tiny.

Tweeted with the caption: Leapin' Lemurs the is going strong. Behold our baby sifaka lemur. He's kind of cute, right?

5. Baby Bobcat (Maryland Zoo)

This is a rescued bobcat that reminds me of a cat that I used to have that would wait around the corner so she could play attack you. Even though his name is Kilgore, he seems too cute to be vicious.

Tweeted with the caption: Um, hi. Kilgore the bobcat here, reporting for duty in the . He's adorable and rescued.

6. Baby Pudú (Queens Zoo)

Last, but certainly not least, is the smallest dear that you will ever see, not only because it is from a deer species that is the smallest in the world, but also because it is a baby. The fact that it's lifting it front foot is just an added cuteness.

Tweeted with the caption: Ahem, the world's smallest deer checking in for the .

Of course, there are many animals that did not make this list that could have. Fortunately, the #CuteAnimalTweetOff is still happening on Twitter. They can be found by searching for the hashtag.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
