Where To Go For An 'A-Dorm-Able' Dorm Room

For those of us who have experienced college move in day, we know the chaos leading up to it. We spend countless amounts of money on the essentials for college. Although it gets tiring, the best part of that experience is buying super cute things to decorate your room. So for those of you who haven’t gotten to college move-in day or anyone looking to spice up their room, look no further. These are the six best places to go to find just what you’re looking for.

1. Target

Because who ever had anything bad to say about Target? Target has everything from storage, to snacks you want for your dorm room, so this makes it the easiest to get all of your shopping done here. On the decor front, they have everything you could need in cute colors that appeal to everyone. On the price front, Target isn’t super overpriced but things could get expensive sometimes. No worries though, if you download the Cartwheel app, you can scan the items you plan on buying and it will let you know if there’s a coupon for them! Just show the cashier the coupons at checkout and save your money for that makeup palette you’ve been waiting to get.

2. Dormify

If you’re into online shopping, Dormify is a great place to go for all things dorm. This site has room collections so if you like one, you can buy things from that collection that all match each other. If you’re not into something that’s in the collection, no worries! Just don’t buy it, it’s as simple as that. Into more than one collection? Everything in the collections are available separately, so you can mix and match them! Although it can be expensive, there are so many cute things on there for all different styles. Sometimes you can find deals on the site, such as free shipping if you spend a certain amount or 30% off of throw pillows.

3. Society6

Whatever you're looking for, they have it. They have thousands of different designs for anything you could think of such as tapestries, framed art, throw pillows, throw blankets, and so much more. Anything you would really want to be represented in your dorm you can find on Society6. Definitely a good choice if you have a certain quote or design you want in your room. A really convenient part of the site is that all tapestries of the same size are the same price, no matter what’s on it. Same goes for throw pillows, framed art, and all else the site has to offer!

4. Amazon

Amazon has everything you could think of, which is awesome if you’re looking for something specific! Amazon is super cheap depending on what you buy, which is great for those on a budget. The most important thing to remember when shopping on amazon, read the reviews! The reviews are so important on amazon because although the picture of the item might look good, when it shows up at your door, it might not look the same. Also, students get 6 months free prime, which means free two day shipping!

5. Walmart

This one could be surprising. It’s common for most of us to overlook Walmart thinking the stuff they have is cheap and low quality. While they are still inexpensive, the quality of the products they have for dorms is actually pretty solid. Walmart has everything from wall art, to cute storage ottomans that serve as a place to store your stuff and an accessory to your room. Just walk right in and get all of your shopping done in one place!
