To my girls, my homies, my ladies, my friends, the women I know, the women I don't

who have ever gone to the store to buy pants.

Who read:

“Give yourself a boost"

“accentuates your curves”

"Fit'ology"

"Butt I love you!"

"Slenderizing"

"Custom seams."


These catchphrases insinuate

your lower half isn’t as good as it should be

and their pants can make it better.


Please don’t listen to the marketing director

milking your insecurities for his paycheck

so he can buy silky Egyptian sheets from the home department on

the second floor.

He's never met you,

or your body.


I went through the rack of being told I wasn’t good enough,

and I bought a slouchy t-shirt instead

to hide my baggage.
