After looking through some old Facebook photos, I couldn't help but laugh at some of the things I use to wear. It made me think about how we quickly trends come and go, and sometimes certain things even come back! Society is constantly changing at a rapid pace, and people will do whatever they can to keep up with it. In high school I was a lot more concerned with having all the latest trends and fitting in, but even in college I still find myself buying products that I notice other people are wearing/using. I decided to make a list of some of the top brands that I've either purchased this year, or that I've seen other people wearing around campus.
1. Birkenstocks: These shoes have been around for awhile, but started to make a big appearance this year. They are known for being comfortable, and forming on the bottom to fit a persons foot. I don't personally own a pair but I've found myself being very temped to buy them whenever I am at Journeys or shopping online!
2. Beats by Dre: These are the new "must have" headphones if you are a big music listener. Beats is a division of Apple and is known for blocking out other sounds and enhancing your music. I have yet to buy a pair of these because they are very pricy.
3. Nike running shoes: I think 90% of the people I see at the gym are wearing some sort of Nike shoe. Nike tennis shoes are a must have, especially if you are a runner. Nike has really stepped up with their shoe designs. I recently just got a pink and grey pair!
4. The North Face jacket: I think just about every person I know owns some sort of North Face jacket or vest. Going to a college with a very cold climate pretty much forced me to become a frequent buyer or North Face products.
5. Converse shoes: These shoes have made an amazing comeback! They have always been a very popular shoe, but over the past year I've seen more and more people wearing them. They are priced pretty well too! I wear my Converse high tops almost every day because they are so comfy.
6. Camelbak: The classic water bottle that you constantly see people using. One awesome thing about this water bottle brand is that it has a lifetime warranty! They are also priced very well.
7. Iphones/Apple products: As technology keeps advancing, so does the amount of people who are "team iPhone." Isn't it crazy to think their was a time where everyone used flip phones or home phones?!
8. Lilly Pulitzer- Any sorority girl will recognize this brand. I would never spend $30.00 on a planner that will only last a year, but still every year, I never fail to see multiple girls with a Lilly Planner.
9. Triangl Swimwear- This is a somewhat newer trend that became popular right around the time of spring break 2k15. Although they cost about $100 per swimsuit, apparently that doesn't stop just about every girl around the U.S. from buying one.
10. Starbucks: This is for all the coffee loving people out there, or the girls who get starbucks just because they want to fit in with other girls. Rumor has it that if your a girl and you drink starbucks on a daily basis that you are "basic." Holding a starbucks cup can even add a nice touch to your perfect fall outfit.
11. UGGs: I'm starting to get the feeling that these boots will never go out of style. People are even still wearing the same style of Ugg boots. I wonder if they are planning to come out with a new look for their boots this winter? Either way count on seeing these boots on the feet of all the trendy girls (and sometimes even boys) of 2k15.
