Yes.
You read the title and I know a slight majority of you might e shaking your heads and wondering what happened to the Sydney that spits philosophical and emotional heat, but I assure you, she is home safe.
Since the beginning stages of quarantine, I have found myself truly exploring the depths of TikTok and some of the funniest people I have ever witnessed.
Ever.
It got me through those months of uncertainty with a smile and many, many laughs so I call it a win for sure. It amazes me to be quite honest. Thousands of people, coming together, to dance and have fun all for people they have never met. It is so special to me and makes me grin thinking about it.
We are living in a time where were don't know what might happen tomorrow. It might be positive, it might be negative. In order to drown out the noises in the background, it is important to live in the now. If that includes me watching a woman half yell at me while cooking a flank steak and potatoes very rapidly, then I am genuinely okay with that.
My list is much more extensive than what I have here, but these are my OGs. The ones who make me laugh so hard, I almost pee. The ones who make me quote them all throughout the day, to annoy all of my roommates and friends. They are special and make my heart sing.
@dope_kitchen / Nicole
When it comes to cooking TikTok, I am all for it. I follow so many chefs on TikTok, but my favorite by far is @dope_kitchen. Nicole, a young body-builder from Santa Monica makes her days full of protein powder, yummy foods, and cooking while zooted on edibles. Her main message is that food is fuel for a fit body and women have the power to make their lives healthy through food and their relationship with it. She is an inspiration to me, especially as someone who has body image issues. I oftentimes look at food in a negative light, yet Nicole wants to alter that state of mind and make it powerful and positive.
@lewwni / Sierra Lewis
Oh wow. There is truly not a soul that makes me laugh harder than ever before. Yet, @lewwni somehow seems to make me smile every second I watch her videos. She is a worker gal from North Carolina who loves to chow on McDonald's, feed her estranged raccoon and possum pets in the backyard, and rant about life as a newly, expectant mom. She is the most relatable person. She tells the good and bad of pregnancy and just being a young girl in general. I cackle in my bed almost all nights watching her and the misadventures of her raccoon, Ricky, and possum, Alonso.
@spencewuah / Spencer
If you need stress relief and somewhere to watch scream excessively, you have come to the right place. Spencer is a Starbucks barista who is really going through it most days. He tells the stories of those lovely customers who send him up a wall and then proceeds to do what he calls a 'daily scream' during his lunch breaks while sitting in his Toyota Carola. On those days when nothing is going right, a @spencewuah video always puts me in the right state of mind.
@stacythiru / Stacy
Another person who makes me giggle is this gal right here. I have been a @stacythiru fan since the beginning. Since the start. So yes, I like to consider myself elite over anyone else. Stacy is a Kenyan girl living in quarantine with her strict parents and a variety of different wigs. Her daily vlogs consist of subpar cooking, mocking her parent's accents, and being the badest bitch possible. We also truly love when Stacy twerks and tries a new wig because truly, no one can do it like her.
@hellotefi / Tefi
I definitely saved the best for last. Tefi, the queen above all queen. She is a podcaster and YouTube content creator that gives advice that I live by on a daily basis. She started her own show, Hello Tefi, that talks about the tea for any given topic and really goes off on the audience. She tells the truth. It makes you feel as though you have a cheerleader at all times. She is special and kind and I send her all of my love.
