I used to hate my naturally curly hair when I was little. I thought it was weird, frizzy, and the other kids would try to pull it to make the curls bounce. So for ten years, I straightened my hair every single day. Fast forward to my freshman year of high school when I chopped my hair off and it suddenly started curling again and I decided just to leave it. I realize now, that curly hair is different and weird, but it's beautiful. No one says that more than Princess Merida, my own personal curly hair style icon.

1. "OMG, is that your natural hair?"

No, I actually have the time and energy to sit there for hours and curl my hair to make it look like this. Of course, it's my natural hair.

2. When Random People Try To Pet Your Curls

No, no. The hair is for looking, not for touching. The minute you start to touch it is the minute it starts to frizz, and it's a downward slope from there.

3. The Humidity Causes Your Hair To Be Bigger Than Your Head

It's a fact of life. Your curls have a mind of their own and will continue to grow until you get out of said humid area. Sometimes you just give up and let them grow.

4. "How Do You Do Your Hair?"

I literally just wet it. Wet it, wash it, use a gallon of conditioner and all is well.

5. When You Run Out Of Conditioner... Again.

You have to keep the curls happy and shiny, so feeding them a gallon of conditioner is the only way. If only your bank wanted your curls to be that happy.

6. Hair In Your Face? Good Luck Dealing With Bobby Pins.

Nothing can hold your curls back. There is no taming them, just letting them be is all you can do.

7. Once You Pick A Style For The Day There's No Going Back

Messy bun? You're done for the day, try tomorrow. Ponytail? Take it down and get ready for the frizz. Braids? Good luck getting those knots out.

8. When Someone Starts Coming At You With A Brush

You know a storm of frizz is just waiting to happen once that brush touches your hair. May the odds be ever in your favor.

9. Knots. Knots Everywhere.

You know that game, "The Impossible Knot"? Well, if that game were a thing on a body, it would be your hair. Good luck getting those out without any pain, tears, and a lot of time on your hands.

10. "You Should Straighten Your Hair More Often."

Yeah like I have the time and energy for that two-hour experience.

11. When Someone With Straight Or Wavy Hair Complains About Their Hair.

Girl, you're preaching to the wrong choir. Try dealing with this mane for a weak.

12. But Never Forget How Beautiful Your Curls Are.

Your curls are different, your curls are beautiful, your curls are part of what makes you, you. You are a princess, crowned in your curls, and you better not ever forget it.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
