CUPSI, or the College Union Poetry Slam Invitational, is one of my dreams.

I have always wanted to perform poetry on the stage, especially a big stage. Performing my poetry is so much fun and it's such a rush of excitement and happiness for me.

When I first discovered what CUPSI was, my first thought was that I could never do it. I've only performed at small places, and even then I wasn't very prepared. But after that first thought, I believed I could do it. I know I can do it. I'm ready to go to CUPSI and ready to prepare myself to perform my own poetry. I'm ready to share my human experiences with the people of CUPSI. There's a chance I will go to CUPSI 2017, and I have never been more excited, and more nervous. I know I can do it though.

For those of you aspiring poets: Do it. Just do it.

Keep writing, keep performing. I didn't even think I could make it to college with my poetry, but I did. Now I might be performing my poetry on a big stage.

You can do it.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
