Let’s face it – the cupcake shop trend is here to stay. Cupcake shops have become a trend in every major city, and they show no sign of stopping. Washington D.C. is home to a plethora of cupcake shops. When craving a cupcake in the District, it’s best to take a stroll down Georgetown’s M Street for your own personal cupcake tour, finding a different cupcake store every few blocks. Georgetown is home to three of my favorite cupcake shops in Washington, D.C., and this weekend, I created my own personal cupcake tour down M Street.

1. Sprinkles

Quick Description: Sprinkles is home to classic cupcakes with a variety of flavors to fulfill any cupcake craving. Although Sprinkles is not unique to Georgetown (they have locations all over the country), the shop still fits snugly into the M Street storefronts. Many Sprinkles locations also feature Cupcake ATMs, which allows customers to skip the line and order cupcakes as they would take out cash at an ATM. Although the Georgetown location doesn’t offer this feature, the storefront is still able to hold two tables for customers.

Cupcake Rating: This weekend, I ordered a sprinkle cupcake from Sprinkles – a “funfetti” cake topped with vanilla buttercream and sprinkles. Personally, I’d give it four out of five stars – the frosting really upped its rating, in my opinion.

2. Baked & Wired

Quick Description: Baked & Wired is (in my humble opinion) the best baked good shop in all of Washington, D.C. Nestled between M Street and the Georgetown Waterfront, Baked & Wired serves a variety of cupcakes, pastries, and coffee drinks. Unlike Sprinkles and other cupcake shops, Baked & Wired serves a variety of pastries, such as lemon bars, cookies, and s’mores bars. Seriously, the s’mores bars are better than a s’more cooked over a bonfire. I mean it. Plus, I’ve heard the coffee is phenomenal, too.

Cupcake Rating: Since it is fall, I ordered a pumpkin cupcake. It was a pumpkin overload – pumpkin cake, pumpkin frosting, and topped with pumpkin seeds. And it was the perfect treat for a breezy fall day. With that, I have to give it a perfect five out of five stars. Bravo, Baked & Wired.

3. Georgetown Cupcake

Quick Description: I first heard of Georgetown Cupcake on television, thanks to my TLC obsession. Yes, it’s that cupcake show on TLC. Although I believe that M Street is home to more superior cupcake shops, Georgetown Cupcake is still an important stop to make, if only because of its TLC fame. It seemed that they had many seasonal cupcake options. There were several Halloween themed cupcakes, red velvet cupcakes decorated for your preferred political party, and a “Vote Red White & Blue” funfetti cupcake.

Cupcake Rating: I ordered a chocolate and vanilla cupcake – chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. It was tasty, but I felt that I could bake something similar in my own oven (and I do not cook). With that, I rate it three out of five stars.

Cupcake shops are a trend that show no sign of going out of style. Luckily for Washington, D.C. residents and visitors, there are several shops in Georgetown to try, enjoy, and choose a favorite. Take a walk down M Street and try one (or all) of the above. I promise, you won’t be disappointed.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
