It is early January and we are at the height of cuffing season. As we all know, cuffing season is that horribly “magical” time, from about early November to mid-February, when all your friends start cuffing themselves to other people. You know how winter is often called the “most magical time of the year?” Well cuffing season is often called, “When did you start dating? Yesterday” time of the year.
Well, this cuffing season I have cuffed myself to my best friend and let me just tell you, it’s been great! I have someone to go to movies with, to go ice skating with, to go to museums with, etc. We almost always want to do the same thing, and I don’t have to worry about wearing something cute or putting makeup on. My best friend has known me long enough that it’s unnecessary to pretend.
Another great part of being cuffed to my bestie is that we get to laugh at all the couples that we all know will break up come the spring. Have you ever heard of the 7-year itch? Have you ever heard of the 7-month itch? Conveniently in time to part ways for the summer.
So, next time you consider cuffing yourself to someone, remember there is no one better than your best friend. You won’t have to delete any pictures off of Facebook or Instagram when you break up, because you won’t! You don’t have to spend hours worrying about what to buy them or how much to spend for the holidays because you know them so well. You won’t have to go through the process of telling your family about your new relationship either, because your relationship with your bestie has been going strong for many years.
It’s nice to have someone for cuffing season, but when it’s over, it’s over. Cuffing yourself to your best friend is a lifetime guarantee.
