There is a time in every sports fans' life that one game will be remembered forever. A game that is hard earned, well deserved and fairly played. It's a game that is won with strength, diligence, impeccable teamwork, mistakes, comebacks, hope, prayers, fans, and an impenetrable never-give-up, give-it-your-all attitude. On November 2, 2016, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series, ending their 108 year drought. It was a game fought hard against the Cleveland Indians spilling into an extra inning, with a winning scoreboard that read 8-7. For this team and for the Cubs organization, this win was for the fans who never lost hope. This win is for dads and sons and daughters and crazy screaming moms. This win is for celebrities and cities and small knit communities. This win is for the home of the free and land of the brave. This win is for the history books. Maybe it seems dramatic but Billy Bean said it best, "It's hard not to be romantic about baseball."
Take a look at some of the Cubs' best moments and celebrations from game 7 of the 2016 World Series.
From the New York Times: "...but 2016 was the 108 year after their last title, and a baseball is sewn together with 108 stitches. This had to be their year. It was."
