It's winter break. You're enjoying your break from school, and it's been good to be home. Winter break is different for everyone, but one thing that is consistent is the faces that we make during break. You know you've made at least one of these faces.
1. The “I’m done” look.
You’re finally done with the semester, and now it’s time to kick back and relax. No homework, no studying, no school. Just Netflix all day, every day.
2. The “I’m not getting out of bed for a while” look.
A different version of the “I’m done” look. You don’t have any school work to do and all you want to do is wake up the next morning at whatever time you want. You've disabled all of your alarms and you’re keeping your schedule clear for the first few days of break, so if you wanted to, you really don’t have to get out of bed except to eat.
3. The “finally, a home cooked meal” look.
After months of cooking weird foods from whatever you have in your refrigerator, you finally have a home cooked meal that actually tastes like normal food. You’ve missed this.
4. The “going into a public place and seeing people you don’t want to see” look.
It happens to the best of us. You head to the mall to get some holiday shopping done and you run into people that you really don't want to see. You tried to dodge them, but you failed and have to put on a happy face and say that it’s good to see them. They don’t have to know you’re lying.
5. The “I’ve already finished six Netflix shows this week and now I don’t know what to do” look.
Your friends have given you Netflix suggestions and you’ve watched all of them. You went through with your plan of staying in bed all of the time and you’ve watched all of the good shows. It is now when you question actually going outside.
6. The “OK, Mom” look.
When you’re at school, your place can look as messy or clean as you'd like. When you’re at home, your room can only look clean. Your dishes can’t be in the sink and you have to help keep the whole house clean. You use this look when your mom asks you to make everything spotless.
7. The “I’ve already spent too much money and I’ve only been home for a week” look.
The sales are amazing at this time. Not Black Friday amazing, but still amazing. You get so much stuff for yourself and your family that you realize you already spent all of your money. Guess you can’t go grab lunch with that friend next week…
8. The “I’m so full” look.
Because of all of the home cooked meals, you’re almost at your breaking point because the food is so good. You’ve had so many feasts with your family that you think you’re going to explode. You just have to persevere through the next meal. You can do it.
9. The “I’m planning on going through with all of my New Year's resolutions” look.
We all have this look. We think it’s going to be so easy to reach all of our goals in 2016. It probably is, but let’s be honest with ourselves—by February 1st, you’re not going to be at the gym; you’re still going to be watching Netflix.
10. The “I’m ready to go back to school” look.
After a month of being on break, you’re ready to go back to school. Not to actually sit in class and learn learn, of course, but to see all of your out of state friends that you’ve missed. This month was weird not seeing them every day.
