I Have A Crush On Paul Ryan

But his good looks couldn't save that bill.

I Have A Crush On Paul Ryan
Gregg Segal

My name is Savanna Strott, I am eighteen years old, and I have a crush on Paul Ryan.

It's not thatweird. He’s been in congress since 1999 , he is the Speaker of The House - third in line for president - and basically the crush of the American people (or at least the people of Wisconsin).

For me, the attraction has nothing to do with his political actions, party, nor ideology: not a fan of that health bill, just a fan of that face.

I mean, just look at that cute, smiling face. He looks so innocent and like someone who wouldn't aggressively push such a terrible health bill just to sit and watch it fail.

He's a model politician: handsome (and people like good-looking people), a husband, a father. It's traits like these that make him attractive to his district in Wisconsin and attractive to me.

Oh, if politics could only be about good looks and Americanness. Then, Paul, you would take the cake and the oval office.

But unfortunately, when people vote, they tend to remember some political blunders such as this one. Plus, that “America Dad” persona just might be tarnished due to your proposed bill wanting to hurt maternity coverage. And old people like to vote, but they do not like to pay to pay an “age tax” that was in your proposed bill. But brighten up sunshine; there’s still a lot of time between now and the 2018 elections. People could forget, and your good looks could pull you through again. No need to listen to “Last Resort”.

So you may be safe for another reelection, but sorry, Paul, even your sea green eyes couldn't sell me (or anyone) on that horrible health bill.

It’s been a tough week for you bud. In fact, the past 6 months have been pretty difficult: you didn’t want Trump in office, Trump became your president, that audio leak came out, your health bill flopped, and the internet is making fun of you.

It’s okay. It’ll turn out alright. Maybe some people think you are a bad guy who hates moms and the elderly, but at least a random 18 year outside of your district old finds you attractive. That's enough to make you feel better, right?

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general.
