It can be tough to find good vegan friendly food when going out to eat or traveling.

Being vegan is awesome, from the health benefits to even helping to save the planet from climate change and let’s not forget about leaving sentient beings and their byproducts off our plates. These are some local favorite vegan-friendly restaurants within Asheville.

1. Rosetta’s Kitchen

This is a completely vegan restaurant located in downtown Asheville. They have a delicious variety from soups and salads to sandwiches to even a nacho platter, chili “cheese” fries and Templo Wings. So, whether you’re a raw vegan, a junk food vegan or somewhere in between, they will have a huge array of food to pick from.

2. Plant

This vegan restaurant is located near downtown Asheville and provides breakfast options such as tofu scramble, cinnamon rolls to even biscuits, gravy and “sausage”. They also have a lunch and dinner menu featuring their Villy Cheesesteak and raw enchiladas.

3. Dobra Tea

Their downtown location has a wide variety of teas. Although not all of their food options are vegan they do have great savory bites for plant-based eaters which are hummus, lima bean hummus, miso soup along with their delicious vegan cookies and shortbread.

4. Laughing Seed Café

This restaurant is a vegetarian restaurant however, they do have vegan options and you can veganize most of the vegetarian options by asking them to hold the dairy. They range from salads to sandwiches and even have raw food options.

5. Elements Real Food

This place is a raw vegan dream from cold pressed juices to smoothies and acai bowls. The have a good range of quick vegan eats like avocado toast, a hummus plate and even salads along with yummy raw vegan desserts.

6. Asheville Pizza and Brewing

This restaurant is not a completely vegan restaurant, but they do have great vegan options. They have a delicious vegan pizza topped with daiya “cheese”, fries, salads and a veggie burger that you can veganize by requesting they hold the cheese. It’s also a brewery if you want a good beer along with your vegan pizza.

7. Green Sage Cafe

This place also has two locations in Asheville, one being downtown. They offer local organic breakfast items along with sandwiches. They’re a great place to get quick eats, however this restaurant is not completely vegan so be sure to read the menu options or ask a worker before you order.
