Raise your hand if your bank account has been personally victimized by cosmetic companies.

Yeah me too, me too, but the real victims of the cosmetic industry are the animals. A lot, actually more than a lot, TOO MANY beauty companies have and still test their products on animals, despite scientific advances that allow for the end of this cruel practice. If you know anything about me you know that I absolutely despise it and REFUSE to buy from companies who still stick to the outdated practice. I know someone out there is saying, "I'd rather it be tested on animals instead of melt my face off." Exsqueeze me? Why would you want to put anything on your face that may or may not melt it off? High end or drug store, I absolutely will not give my money to corporations that have such little regard for pain and suffering. With how much money beauty lovers give to these companies each month, let alone year, I know that they can afford to switch some things up and let those poor bunnies, rats, and guinea pigs live a cruelty free life. I know there is an amazing list of some high end brands that are cruelty free, but I also know that not everyone can afford a $48 eyeshadow palette. Here are some of my top 6, budget friendly, cruelty free brands that I'd recommend to all of my babes who want to take a stand and hop on the cruelty free train!

1. Wet N' Wild

This brand gives me life y'all. Their PhotoFocus setting spray is my go to! They also have amazing lip products, foundation, brushes, and even a nail polish. This company is proud to offer cruelty free AND vegan beauty to those makeup lovers on a budget. Along with clearly marking all of their products Cruelty Free the company even offers and labels their vegan products. If you want to be on the safe side, their website does offer full ingredient lists!

2. Milani Cosmetics

I want all of my people of color to give these next 2 brands some serious attention, cause they definitely thought of us! This line offers a 15 different shades in their 2 in 1 series, which is one of my favorite an most recommended foundations! The shades are a variety of tones, making the company equal opportunity! This is my go to brand for some amazing high end dupes! Their Stay Put brow pomade is a $8 replica of the Anastasia dip that everyone loves. The company also offers amazing foundation, liquid lip colors, blush, and once again nail color! Definitely check them out, especially if you love dupes as much as I do.

3. Black Radiance

This is a new company that I just started seeing in stores about a year or so ago. I have tried a couple of their products and can say I love some and hate some. They have a series of brown representing foundations, like Milani, which as a brown passing makeup user makes me overly happy. I will say that I when they first came into stores near me, the foundation I got was a little too red based for me. The company is now offering more tone options and I have to say I love the coverage and dependability this foundation offers. I have never had an issue with it not lasting the entirety of my day and their eyeshadows are definitely pigmented for brown skin!

4. E.L.F. Cosmetics

Okay we all knew this one was coming up. When I first really got on the cruelty free train I turned to E.L.F. because 1. It was affordable, 2. The company offers a variety of products for all types of skin tones and skin types. Having a mixture of sensitive and oily skin (thanks genetics) I have an extremely hard time being able to use certain types of products. E.L.F. now offers a skin care line, which I would definitely recommend checking out. They also offer great eyeshadow palettes, lip color, primers, moisturizers, brushes, and tools.

5. Flower Beauty

So apparently Drew Barrymore started her own cosmetic line? I came across this brand in the clearance section one time and decided to check it out. I'm not disappointed y'all! I mix the BB cream with my foundation to get my perfect shade and my skin literally feels like I just blended air into it! I've gone on to try other products and I'm still not entirely disappointed. I can say I was not a fan of the Eye 2 Eye marker, but I'm not a fan of any liquid liner markers. Props to Drew for this!

6. Real Techniques

This isn't really a beauty line, but a beauty tool line. Brushes and the widest selection of beauty blenders I've encountered! If you're looking to invest in some quality tools but don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, CHECK THEM OUT!

These are just a few of the brands that are cruelty free and affordable that I love, if you some feel free to drop them in the comments!

If you have a company in question, The Leaping Bunny is a good go to for cruelty free brands/

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

Happy Birthday Cake

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
