All of the people you’ve met or have in your life are here for a reason. You might not see or understand the reason, but one day you will.
They magically appear at the worst or best of times in your life. There is a part for everyone you meet. They will test you, some will take advantage of you, some will love you, and some will teach you. The most challenging you will learn the most from, the most optimistic ones will show the positive sides of life, the most loving will give you absolute care. The most patient will be the ones to stick by you in the worst and best of times.
They affect our lives in different ways. You affect them just as much as they affect you. When they stay or leave, you give them something too. It may be temporary, or it could be a lifetime. You will treasure them just as much as they treasure you. Your belly hurts from all the laughs you shared with them, your eyes are sore from all the tears you shed with them, your arms are wide open from all the hugs you’ve given them. Like a movie, each scene, each moment, each second you spend with this person is recorded within your heart. When they cross your path, you experience life with them.
Now, imagine this person leaving your path.
Like an imprint, that person has left their footprints behind in your path. You may not know the reason they came and left, you may not even know why they came in the first place. You may have never thought that these strangers were the people you needed at the worst or best of times in your life. When you needed a friend you met Briana, when you need to see another perspective of life you met Nick, when you needed reassurance you met Isabel, when you needed a challenge you met Timothy. If they change or leave, they weren’t a waste, you learned something from each of them. You shared something with them. They come as blessings or curses, they come as years or lifetimes, they come as obstacles or a helping hand.
Be thankful your paths have crossed, even if it was for a short time. Be thankful for what they offered and taught you, and learn to cherish the memories you had with them.
Most importantly -- appreciate the ones who are still here.
You know why?
Because the rarest and most important ones will stay and bring out the best of you.
