Since I had so much fun rounding up crochet ideas for Halloween and football fans, I thought it would be appropriate to keep the party rolling with a Thanksgiving themed piece.
Holiday decorating is all the warmer when you incorporate soft textures and handmade touches. For fall harvest and thanksgiving themed decor, the warmer the better. It made me curious to see what can be crocheted for Thanksgiving Table decor and of course the sky is the limit. Plus, as one blogger put it, it's crochet weather now (and crocheters know what I mean).
So here are five of the crochet patterns I might be trying out in the spirit of Thanksgiving:
1. Crochet Pumpkins that Look Knit
I'm always drawn to the pumpkins. They're cute. Who doesn't love them? What's also intriguing to me is how these look like knit--which is fun because I have NO CLUE how to knit. In case you're wondering what the difference is between crochet and knitting, one uses a single hook while the other uses two sticks. I'm of the one hook persuasion as two intimidate me. Anyway, a harvest table look doesn't get much easier than it does with pumpkins.
2. Fall Maple Leaves
These leaves can go right along with the cute pumpkins! This small project is a great one for beginners as well. these would be great to incorporate with a center piece. I also think I may have just found a new favorite blogger and can't wait to see more rustic farm house style inspiration from The Painted Hinge!
3. Table Runner/Place Mat Leaves
Place them together as a table runner or utilize them as place mats. This pattern gets extra points for it's versatility! They would look so pretty on a fall table.
4. Coasters
How about some adorable pumpkin coasters? I especially like the curly vine. It reminds me of the whimsical feeling features on real pumpkin plants.
5. Crochet Candle Cozies
Once again I find myself swooning over a pattern from blogger Sewrella! This cozy is meant for gifting candles. Wouldn't that make such a sweet gesture to your Thanksgiving hostess? She also has some Christmas themed ideas so check her blog out for more great ideas and free patterns!
