I made it my goal sometime ago to crochet Christmas Gifts whenever possible. Personalized gifts from the heart are often the best and handmade can be cost effective.
Initially though, I had no idea what I could make as gifts other than scarves. Now I know crochet designers have thought of everything. So I pinned ideas for almost everyone on my list and got an early start. Here I'll show you some of the the items I plan on making this year:
1. Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder
Leave it to Sarah at repeatcrafterme.com to think of everything like this cute mug gift card holder! I know a lot of people feel that gift cards are what you get people whom you have no idea how to shop for; well that's true. BUT, crocheting the holder itself is personalized right? I can't wait to try this pattern!
2. Santa Gift Card Holder
Then for any other gift cards other than to a coffee shop there's this cute free pattern from a creator on Ravelry.
3. Gifting Wine
Gifting Wine can be more fun if it's dressed up for the occasion! Isn't it cute? The last time I made this for someone she said, "I want to give this to someone now!"
4. Hats for Everyone
A basic hat pattern can be so versatile and with a guide to every size you can make one for every person on your list. Pick their favorite colors, add a pom pom, maybe pick out an embellishment, or leave it simple for a guy. This free pattern is also great for beginners.
5. Scarf to Match
This free pattern is so easy you don't even have to print it out. Just pin it or write the 4 steps in your notebook and hop to it. As the blogger from life after laundry puts it, just repeat the last step until you run out of yarn or reach desired length. It doesn't get more beginner friendly than that!
6. Panda Hat
I've already made a couple of these and plan on girly-ing them up with a crocheted flower to pin by the ear. I'm in love with them. This free pattern is also fairly beginner friendly.
7. Coffee Cup Coasters
Lastly I want to try something that can be useful year round such as coasters! Here is another free pattern you can whip up as stocking stuffers or a complimentary gift. Pick any color to match the home decor.
I hope you've enjoyed this list and find inspiration to create personal touches in your holiday gift giving. If you start early enough, Christmas doesn't have to be stressful. It should be the most wonderful time of the year. You're sure to create some smiles with any of these hand crocheted treasures.
