Remember when Facebook was considered the "it" thing? My middle school days consisted of adding my BFFs as family members on Facebook, updating my status daily to be an inspiring quote from Google, and "liking" all of the Facebook pages I found relatable.
As I was scrolling through my Facebook feed the other day, I realized I was in dire need of a cleanse. I decided enough was enough and I went back and unliked all of those random, weird Facebook pages that were spamming my feed. Keep reading to see if you and I liked any of the same Facebook pages!
1. "She's my best friend, of course I'm going to tell her everything you just said."
While I do still agree with this (sorry my BFF knows everything about you), this page's only recent posts are ones campaigning for more likes in order for it reach 1 million overall. The campaigning must have been a success since the page does have over 1 million likes now. I guess I wasn't the only one who found this page relatable.
2. "SillyBandz"
Ahhh...colorful rubber bands that are in the shape of random objects. Who knew those would be so wildly popular?
3. "That moment when your heart stops when your chair tilts back too far."
While scrolling through my Facebook feed, I noticed random articles from a Chinese website, the source was none other than this page. Even though I no longer relate to the posts from this page, over 800,000 other Facebook users still do.
4. "I hate that feeling of forgetting something."
True, yet I do not want to be reminded of that feeling every time I get on Facebook.
5. "Searching frantically for something then realizing it's in your hand."
I am NOT at all surprised I had liked this page. In middle school, I lost my cell phone, convinced my mom to buy me a new one, then realized it was in my Ugg boot a week later.
6. "Greatest game ever: don't let the balloon touch the floor."
I must not have been the only person to think this was the greatest game ever considering over 1.7 million Facebook users still like this page today. The people behind this page now use their following to sell random t-shirts.
7. "After typing in your password 10 times, you realize the caps lock is on."
I have to admit this actually happened to me today.
8. "I hate when it's quiet and you're eating something crunchy."
*in every lecture hall ever*
9. "Omg did you fall?" "No the ground just came up and smacked me in the face."
This was one of my personal favorite old liked pages. I literally laughed out loud at the stupidity of the concept. If I had to guess, I probably liked this page in middle school when it was REALLY important to always have a clever comeback.
10. "I hate when someone is about to tell you something but then says never mind."
I was pretty shocked to see that this page only has 595 likes - 594 after I said goodbye.
11. "Soooo.....a KILLER WHALE killed somebody.....how ironic."
This is another personal fav of mine. Some of this page's recent posts are "on nom nom nom nom" and "I wonder what's for dinner......". Surprisingly, over 160,000 people still like this page.
12. "So umm...when do Phineas and Ferb go back to school?"
I think this was a question many of us had during our childhoods watching Phineas and Ferb. Apparently over 800,000 people on Facebook still have that question today.
13. "Flo from Progressive"
Flo from Progressive must have seemed like a cool thing for middle school me to like, yet I knew nothing about Progressive insurance. Flo is clearly still popular today with over 4.7 million likes, with 133 of those likes coming from some of my own Facebook friends.
14. "I hate when my parents ask who I'm texting."
I find it ironic that I had liked this page in middle school since I was likely only texting my parents at the time. Evidently not many people want their parents knowing who they are texting since this page still has over 3.4 million likes.
15. "I hate opening a car door the exact time someone unlocks it, and it won't open."
First world problems.
16. "Gum"
Such a classic.
17. "Saying "I'm almost there" when you actually haven't even left the house."
I almost didn't unlike this page since it actually is SO accurate. I think any girl, or anyone who is just chronically late, will agree with me.
I hope y'all found these Facebook pages as entertaining as I did and aren't experiencing too much secondhand embarrassment. I can't believe I have tolerated seeing posts from these pages for the past 5 years on my Facebook feed. Middle school was such a weird time for all of us, am I right?
