Eight Most Cringe Worthy Michael Scott Moments

He’s like a car accident; you want to look away but you can’t help but marvel at the spectacle that is Michael Scott.

For six and a half seasons Michael Gary Scott graced us, or scarred us, which ever way you look at it, with his quirks and misguided intentions. From the booze cruise to the moment we met one of our favorite alter egos “Date Mike”. He always meant well but his enormous heart and lack of social skills often got the best of him. Remember when he invited both Carol and Jan to casino night? As hard as that was to watch you have to admit Michael didn’t mean any harm by it. And then there was that horribly awkward moment where he spoke to Kelly using a horribly racist fake Indian accent, resulting in getting a slap in the face from Kelly. Maybe he didn’t have the best intentions there, but I honestly think he didn’t know how horrible what he was doing was. Even still, we watched week after week just to see what crazy thing Michael was going to do or say next.

1. The booze cruise.

Remember how hard that was to watch? Michael just wanted to be the captain but Rob doesn't was just not having it. And then, of course, we got to see his amazing dance moves. I don't think I've ever seen anyone "dance while no ones watching" while at the same time wanting everyone to watch.

2. When he proposed to Carol at Kelly's party.

The first red flag was when he and Carol walked into the party and she was dressed up like a cheerleader because Michael told her it was a "costume party". Throughout the night he was dazzled by the music, dancing, and love that Kelly's parents shared even though they didn't know each other well before the wedding. Even though they didn't have s'more's like he thought, he saved his own night by proposing to Carol in front of everyone at the party.

3. Phyllis's wedding.

This might be one of his worst moments ever. And of course by worst, I mean it was one of the best ones to watch. From announcing Phyllis and Bob as husband and wife to early to the entire church to, my personal favorite moment, when he revealed to all the guests that Phyllis's nickname in high school was "easy rider". This is definitely a contender for one of his most cringy moments ever

4. Watching Jan listen to his voicemail break up.

This ones pretty much all in the title. The look on Michael's face as he had to sit there and watch Jan listen to the voicemail he left in which he told her they needed "a little break...permanently", doesn't get much worse than that.

5. Jim and Pam's rehearsal dinner.

I think we all remember this one. Michael's night-ruining rehearsal dinner speech about the differences in relationships between todays couples and couples back in the fifties was doesn't definitely one for the books. Poor Mee-Maw....

6. When he broke up with Pam's mom.

Not only was this a rough one for Michael, but imagine being Pam, first having to deal with Michael Gary Scott dating your mother, but then having to watch him break up with her on her birthday. Yikes.

7. Scott's tots.

Need I go into detail? For those of you who don't know, Michael had to tell a large group of high school seniors that he was not going to pay for their college, as he had promised to way back when they were all in the third grade.

8. When he introduced us to "Date Mike".

"Hi, I'm date Mike, nice to meet me". That line alone makes me shudder.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
