It is so easy to find oneself in a creative drought, especially when starting out at college. I've found a few things that have helped me stay in touch with my creative vibes as a content creator while in a new environment.
Crystals:
Crystals are not only aesthetically pleasing to have on your desktop, windowsill or any other little nook you have in your space, but they also provide customizable energy. I've found my favorite crystal combination for staying creative, imaginative and in tune with my instincts.
Citrine:
Imagination, manifestation and motivation
Amethyst:
Wisdom, creativity and passion
Labradorite:
Intuition, guidance and self-discovery
Mood Board:
Sometimes having your inspirations or goals somewhere that you can visibly see them, whether it be digitally or in print, makes them easier to attain or tap into for creative energy.
Playlists:
Something that I have found incredibly helpful when creating on campus, is putting in my earbuds and listening to a specialized playlist. Spotify is a really good way to have specific playlists based on the time of day, the type of project you are working on or even your mood. My favorite playlists to tune into when I'm trying to write or create are:
"Creativity Boost" by Spotify
"Hipster BBQ" by WAIHIBEACHHOTEL
"Focus" by Andrii Frolikov
Literature:
Reading poetry, plays, theories or short stories have to power to recharge your creative battery. Some of my favorite inspiration and creativity books include:
"Big Magic" by Elizabeth Gilbert
"Funny Ways of Staying Alive" by Willis Barnstone (which features some super rad sketches)
"On Writing" by Charles Bukowski
"The Interpretation of Dreams" by Sigmund Freud
Coffee (!):
I am not my best self if I am not caffeinated. Coffee to me is a staple, not only because you can get it served in so many different and fun ways (espresso shots, lattes, affogatos, etc.), but you can also go to a cafe which are some of the best places to create and accomplish.
Good luck & keep creating
