6 Ways to Creatively Display Pictures

Maybe it's because I am graduating college and feeling nostalgic about memories in general, but I have really been interested in taking pictures lately and learning fun ways to display them! I have always loved pictures whether they be old family pictures (I have a wall of old black and white family pictures in my room at home), pictures from when I was a kid, or really recent ones. So for my article this week, I was inspired by Pinterest (of course) to write about some creative ways to display pictures. All of the ideas I've listed below were found on Pinterest so I want to give them the credit! I hope you find some ways to display pictures that you want to try! Thanks for reading and have fun with these ideas!

6 Ways to Creatively Display Pictures:

1. Tree with string lights

I've seen this done a couple of times and I LOVE it! I chose this picture because I like that they used Polaroid pictures. You can make this really easy and just get a tree branch from outside and wrap string lights around it ,or you can buy a pre-light tree branch like the ones they sell at Kohl's or Target. Have fun with it!

2. Vintage hand mirror picture frames

I think this is such a great idea! I haven't done this myself yet but I love the idea of using vintage hand mirrors to display black and white photos. If you love antiquing or have a lot of old family photos, this is the display idea for you!

3. Large painted picture frame

I really like this one because it is easy and it is a cheap idea to display your pictures. If you have a spare picture frame laying around the house, you can paint it a fun color, buy some little clothes pins and hang some of your favorite pictures up in a fun and creative way. I think I'm going to do this one!

4. Mapping your pictures

I have a rolled up map sitting in my closet waiting for me to do this with all of my pictures. I haven't traveled a lot yet but, that is one of my life goals! I would love to display my pictures from my adventures this way. If you are a world traveler and have a ton of pictures from your travels, this is the creative way to display pictures for you!

5. The tree branch display

I really like this idea because it is simple and it turns your photos into a work of art. It you have a lot of tree branches in your backyard or like the idea of your pictures being turned to art, this is the idea for you!

6. Picture collages in the shapes of the places you've been

I really like this one because if there is a special place you travel to every year, this is a great way to honor your memories there! This is also great if you love traveling but haven't had the chance to go to many places yet. This way, you can honor the places you've been!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
