It almost seems instinctual; the second that a leaf is seen falling from a tree, it's time to break out the Uggs and flock to bonfires, hayrides, and pumpkin-spiced EVERYTHING. But while most Fall bucket lists consist of time-old traditions, there are creative and amazing adventures to be had in the colorful, crisp months of Autumn! This year, dare to try something new and unique:

1. Take a hot-air balloon ride!

If you think the orange, red, and yellow foliage looks pretty from down below, try taking an arial view instead! The cool air and open skies will take your breath away.

2. Rent a cabin somewhere woodsy.

Everyone knows how rejuvenating it can be to leave the bustle of civilization behind. As nature starts transitioning to welcome the new season, immerse yourself in the change.

3. Shop at a farmer's market.

Nothing screams "Fall" quite like warm apple pies, carved pumpkins, and cornucopias of fresh veggies. But instead of buying pre-made goods or plastic decor from big-name stores, make an excursion out of visiting your local farmer's market! Not only will your contributions be put to good use, but the freshness of your food will be well worth it.

4. Make homemade Halloween treats.

It may feel easier to grab a bag of Hershey's during your next trip to the grocery store, but it's a lot more fun (and much more delicious) to make your treats by hand! Candy apples, caramels, Rice Krispies, you name it; your Trick-or-Treaters will enjoy the homemade goodies.

5. Knit your own Fall sweater.

Similar to the homemade Halloween treats, this is another hands-on way to make the most of your dedication to the season. Try your hand at knitting (or sewing!) to create something warm and personal for those chilly, Autumn afternoons.

6. The Great Jack-O-Lantern Blaze!

Every year, an amazing display of seven-thousand carved pumpkins bring Halloween fanatics flocking to Hudson, New York. From dinosaurs to towering replicas of the Statue of Liberty, the Blaze never fails to outdo itself each year!

7. Zip-line through the changing trees.

Although zip-lining is a year-round thrill, there's something magical about plunging into the colors and smells of Autumn.

8. Take a helicopter ride.

Helicopters offer another unique way to enjoy the ever-changing scenery. If you're a height and speed junkie, you'll love these fast-paced tours!

9. Hang glide through the scenery.

Another way for thrill-seekers to get up off of the ground is by taking a hang glider out into the wide, open fields. It may not be your typical pumpkin patch, but it's an adventurous, fun way to enjoy the Fall nature.

10. Make your own scarecrow.

For those who need a more mellow way to appreciate the season, making your own scarecrow is a unique way to put your hands to work. Model it after a celebrity, a relative, or a friend, and have fun with it! Not all Autumns have to consist of tired, overused traditions.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
