We have all been there before: soundly asleep and perfectly content with life. Out of nowhere, your alarm sounds off, jolting your entire body up and awake. You want to smash your phone into millions of pieces after hearing the same repetitive, one-toned alarm repeat itself again and again until you hit off.
There are thousands of reasons as to why you do not want to wake up, but I, on the other hand, love mornings. Narrowing it down to my personal five reasons of why mornings are the best, you can use these to help say goodbye to your own morning blues.
1. Morning coffee
How is this not the best thing in the morning? The aroma of coffee puts me instantaneously in a good mood. If you are like me, you need coffee to function; you crave it. My rule with coffee is that I haven't had enough until I think I've had too much. I am a coffee snob, and by snob, I mean I only accept the finest coffee. No Keurig kind either, I am talking freshly ground coffee put through a French Press, Chemex or out of my Espresso Machine (Look for my coffee review in weeks to come).
2. Silence, silence and more silence
During my morning coffee I like silence. Silence is golden, sitting there enjoying my coffee and reading the news on my iPhone is one of the best ways to start my day. Occasionally I will throw on my morning playlist, which ranges from The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Mumford & Sons and other easy-going music to help start my day.
3. Breakfast foods
Does this even need explaining? I could eat breakfast food every day of my life and be perfectly content. Never trust someone who does not like coffee, breakfast foods and dogs. As Ron Swanson said best, "I am a simple man. I like pretty, dark-haired women and breakfast food."
4. Carpe Diem
Seize the day! While everyone else loves to sleep in, I like to wake up early to get a head start on the day's activities. Even if the day includes countless re-runs of "Entourage," eight-race Mario Kart circuits or, occasionally but rarely, doing homework.
5. The View
How can you not love waking up and seeing that beautiful scenery outside your window? When the sky is mixed with different shades of crimson, dark aqua and hints of violet that looks like a Bob Ross painting, that adds up to be a perfect morning.
I could write on and on with more reasons about why I think mornings are the best, but you should try waking up early once and see for yourself. It might become your new favorite thing.
