Creating My First YouTube Video Was A Truly Life-Changing Experience

It's invigorating and therapeutic at the same time.

I feel like I'm always talking about YouTube with other people because it really does mean a lot to me. It's a place where I can release a lot of my worries and stress into doing something that I love. In essence, it's invigorating and therapeutic at the same time. I enjoy the whole process that goes into making the videos, from forming the audio files to the actual film itself.

Sometimes, I find myself getting very absorbed into the video making that I often lose track of time — trust me, it's really a magical feeling to forget that the world is moving through time for a brief period. It's almost like a respite as well as a job I love doing.

I will say that my first YouTube video was truly the start of something inside of me, as corny as that sounds. I loved taking the time to invest in a project before posting it on the platform because I want each video to be my best attempt. In the first video, I did exactly that and spent nearly a year working on the audio recordings and the drawings. Because it was my first time, I was really conflicted on how I should go about completing the project, and I ended up stumbling a lot along the way.

I almost ended up ripping the paper dozens of times, I deleted or forgot to save many of the audio recordings I worked so hard on, I would sit for hours straight just playing with pitches, and on top of that, I had to maintain the heavy course load that my school gave.

Nevertheless, it turned out how I wanted at the time. Even though I was shy of posting at first, I'm glad so many of my friends were there for me, not just for moral support, but later on to help me film with future projects as well.

If you're interested, my YouTube channel is Mirakell and I'll definitely continue posting as I continue through college.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
