Characters can be hard to create but it is possible

Creating Characters.
Ash Gulick

As an artist and a writer of many years, I have created my own little world of characters. Now grwoing up I read a lot of books and watched a whole bunch of anime.(Yes I know, you can say it now ,. "Jelly you are such a nerd ew." haha I would agree with you.). Anyway, moving on, as you probably would have guessed, some of my ideas and stories when I was younger, was a bit cringey. I will admit, as I look back at my stuff I do cringe every time.

However, as time went on the one series I wrote (and still write), is The Guardians. A bunch of immortal folks with a mission to help the world. There is a lot about them, if you are interested of it, comment below, and I might let you read the official typed up first draft sometime.

Moving on, here is some tips on creating humanoid characters.

Tip One: Start out small. Like do not start your character with a million different things. Start with gender, the sex of the character, and maybe a few basic stats.Maybe even their race too.

Tip two:Okay, you got that stuff down, great job! Next, figure out their personality. And yes they can be any personality in the world. But say they are a shy character, do not say they like to do karoke in front of a crowd of a hundred thousand. And if they happen to do that, well thatnis their personality after all.

Tip Three: Backstory. You know, like where did the characters come from. (And do not just say your imagination. I am not being technical for this. Use your imagination bud.). So where did they come from? Who is/was their family? How did they grow up? Why are they like the way they are? And it does not have to be super tragic or super detailed. Heck, it can be some person who grew up being into soccer. Now that is done let us move to step four.

Tip Four: Clothing. (If this character is a humanoid of some sort. I cannot help you with animals, I'm lame I know). Okay. This is where Google comes in. Google some clothing. Get inspired. Make sure the clothing fits the era you want them to be in. As well as the location. And make it personal. Design it to their personality. If they are flamboyant, make it flashy. If they love the color purple, do not make the outfit all purple, but instead make it have purple in the design elements. Next you can incorporate hair and eye color. Like unless your character has no eyes or hair you will kinda need those. And feel free to add as many eyes as you want. Trust me, I draw a lot of eyeballs sometimes. Or I draw one eye. It all depends on my mood.

Honestly, creating a character is all up to you. It is about having fun and experimenting with the design elements and back story. So go on ahead. Create a character that is yours and yours to love. Good luck, and tell me how it goes.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
