Everyone Needs A Bucket List In Their Life For These 5 Reasons

In This Article:

I often see people dissing bucket lists and the people who create them. It's become this cliché thing that only teenagers have movies or TV shows, and their number one thing on their list is always traveling to Europe or Britain. However, bucket lists can be so much more than that. Everyone needs one in their life, and these are five reasons why!

1. It gives you goals to look forward to.

Happy, Lost, and Found.

Having a bucket list gives you a sense of hope and excitement. It can be as simple as trying the new french fries at your favorite restaurant or as complicated as traveling to every country. Whatever it is, just write it down and start dreaming!

2. You can revisit your favorite places and memories.

Best Day Ever.

Once, I went to this adorable little town in northern Spain for a summer. I had an amazing time and met all these cute people. Going back to this town is probably in the Top Five on my bucket list right now. I know it's not super exciting and I've technically already been there, but going back would just bring back so many memories. Plus, I'd get to revisit all my favorite shops and places, so why not add it to my bucket list?!

3. You discover what truly matters to you.

Let it go whatever.

While figuring out what to add to your bucket list, you might discover the things that truly mean something to you. Maybe you thought traveling is what you really wanted to do but your bucket list includes things like buying a house, having kids, creating new family traditions, etc. And then you realize that your future and starting a family is what you should really be focusing on.

4. You get excited about your future with someone.

Romance.

Bucket lists don't have to be just yours. You can create one with your significant other or family members. Maybe you and your partner want to do similar things, so you create a shared bucket list and hype each other up to accomplish those goals!

5. Even unachievable goals are worth writing down.

Easy A.

Some goals might be really simple and you can easily accomplish them. And some goals might take years. You might even come up with the most impossible goal, but it's still worth having on your bucket list. Trying to achieve that impossible goal might lead you to finishing other goals along the way that you didn't even realize you wanted to do. And you never know, some things aren't as impossible as you think!

In conclusion, creating a bucket list is definitely worth it! You don't have to know everything you want to do yet, either. Just start writing your goals down and go from there!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
