You Know That You're A Crazy Dog Person If...

It happens, we can’t help it. Why be ashamed? You love your freaking adorable dog that loves you back! I am a crazy dog person, and I am proud to admit it. If you are curious whether you are one or not, here are some clear indicators that might help you out.

Snapchat

80-90% if not more, of your snap chats are of your dog. If you take a lot of selfies at work or in school, you might be an exception, but for those who don’t, paws. You are most likely a crazy dog person. Your dog is cute, so sharing your cuteness gets you ridiculously excited.

You go more places with your dog than people

Dog park, car rides, breweries, and any store that you can take them with you. --You already googled places in the area that you can take them--

You love taking your pup places with you. They are your side-kick, your pal. If they can tag along, you are taking them. Collapsable dog bows really come in handy if you travel travel with your dog a lot.

You are more excited to buy your dog a Halloween costume than you are to buy yourself one.

Unfortunately, my dog will not keep any sort of costume on for longer than three seconds. However, if your dog can keep one on for longer, I bet your eyes light up as soon as you pass the Seasonal section of the store that has dog costumes. They can be a little ridiculous, but also hilarious. Seeing a dog dressed up as a hot dog never gets old.

Organic Dogs

Who would dare buy heavily processed treats for their dog, when there is an organic option! There is an enormous amount of options out there for dog treats, and a lot of people make them from scratch. I buy big brand dog food and dog treats, but I have interacted with many owners who strictly buy organic for their dogs. In fact, I have met many people who cook full meals for their dogs.

Treats and food are not the only organic option. Just about anything that you buy for your pup can be organic and chemical free. The only high end dog product that I normally give in to is shampoo. Many dog shampoos can be harmful to their coat. If you have a dog that sheds a lot, you are better off buying a more natural and less chemically induced shampoo.

You stay in because your dog gives you the puppies eyes.

If you work a full-time job, odds are that you are away from your dog a good bit. When you get home at the end of the day, they are beyond excited to see you. Sad news, the place that everyone wants to go for happy hour does not allow dogs. You start getting ready and your pup just keeps giving you “the look."

There is always the weekend, and you would rather stay in and hang out with that adorable pup. This last one is a clear indicator. You are putting your dog first before humans. You just might be a crazy dog lover.

So, give yourself a round of apaws. Some of these things might be true and you might be a crazy dog person, however you are probably a good dog owner.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
