Crazy cat ladies aren't just those 75-year-old grandmas who have 15 cats in their house. Young people have reclaimed the narrative of having fur babies, probably because we're too young and free to have actual children. Oops.
All of this cat-focused love can be beneficial to our significant others, too. Crazy cat ladies make the best girlfriends, hands down.
1. We have big hearts.
Have you ever met a cat lady who wasn't scarily obsessed with their cat? I didn't think so. Whether we adopted, rescued, or were given our baby from a friend, they definitely have enough love to go around for not just themselves, but for a special someone too.
2. We get personal space, kind of.
While we do love to smother our cats with constant love, affection, toys, and maybe clothes (not sorry), we get that sometimes they just need their space. We know our cats still love us even when we aren't around, so don't worry, you'll still have at least some room to breathe.
3. We really love to snuggle, though.
When our cat plops down to take a nap in our lap, it's one of our proudest moments. We love to be chosen. As a result, we love to show our love in the same way: all snuggly and cuddly.
4. We aren't afraid to commit.
Cats have a pretty lengthy lifespan of about 10-20 years, so we're in this for the long haul, buddy. We didn't get a cat just to kill some time and then get bored when something else comes along, so we expect the same from you with our relationship.
5. We're always down to eat and nap with you.
Sometimes, cat owners tend to take on the personality of their cat. Weird, but true. So, much like our feline babies, we're totally game for just take a breather and napping. We also will never say no to food. I guess we're just in sync with our favorite pet.
6. We're pretty responsible people.
We call ourselves "cat moms" for a reason. Raising an animal as a pet is a big deal. It takes a lot of time, money, and love. We take out the litter, take them to the vet, feed them, and do everything in our power to make them healthy, happy little furballs. You can't be a good cat mom and be irresponsible.
7. We don't give up when the going gets tough.Â
Our cats eat our hair when we're sleeping, claw up furniture, scratch us to deal with their sharp little claws, and puke up hair balls, but we still love them. If things hit rough waters, we aren't going to just run away.
8. Scientifically, we're just happier people.
Science has proven that having pets can help provide comfort and support when battling depression, stress, and our overall well-being. With the help of our furry friends, we can cope with everyday life easier and take on the world with a smiling face. After all, few things make us as happy as our fur babies.
It's easy to see how crazy cat ladies are the best girlfriends. Unless you're not a cat person, then please let me know so I can block your number and all of your social media. Thank you.
