Blue Mountain State was and will be one of the most crude and insane TV shows to ever be produced. The creators, writers and actors had no regard for political correctness and were willing to push every boundary. They didn’t even do it in a profound way, but instead it’s so absurd it just happens to be funny.
BMS is not for the lighthearted or easily offended. The amount of booze, sex and drugs in each episode never failed to impress. This show capitalized on every college and football stereotype – then took them all a step further.
One of the most underrated parts of the show is the episode titles. While most of them are pretty mundane (I’m looking at you specifically, season three), there are a few that stand out.
"It’s Called Hazing, Look it up" (season one, episode one)
What a better way to start off a show about college football than by putting hazing at the forefront. This is the episode title I reference most by far. It only makes watching Alex, Craig and Thad run across a football field with an Oreo in between their butt cheeks more hilarious. I can’t believe someone got paid to come up with that.
"Pocket Pussy" (season one, episode three)
This episode title is legendary on its own right, but the pocket pussy becomes one of the most iconic parts of this show. Whether it’s used to give the entire team syphilis or remind Thad of his dad, the pocket pussy never fails to disappoint.
"Drug Olympics" (season one, episode six)
While self-explanatory, this is a self-explanatory episode title that leads to one of the best episodes in the entire first season. While most NCAA athletes would get tested and punished for drug use, Blue Mountain State considers locking yourselves in the goat house and consuming a randomly selected drug as a form of team bonding.
"The Fingering" (season two, episode two)
While one might figure this episode is all about one of the players getting with a girl on campus, it’s actually all about who stuck their finger up Thad’s ass. This episode plays on the core characteristics of each member on the team — especially Thad. I can’t imagine being the one to pitch this idea.
"Dic Pics" (season three, episode two)
This is basically exactly what you think it is, but, of course, they took it to extremes. Not only does Thad teach the team the proper way to send that kind of photo, but the coach accidentally texts a player a photo meant for his wife.
