If you are anything like me, you love Halloween and anything that goes along with it. Once October hits, that's all I want to do: watch Halloween movies, eat candy, decorate, and find that perfect Halloween costume. Here is a list I have compiled of the best DIY Halloween costumes that any crafty or uncrafty lady can try out.

1. Cat

If you want a super easy costume that won't take much work, then this would be a perfect combo for you. When getting your costume together, all this really requires is skills to do good cat makeup, a lot of black clothing, cat ears, and a tail. The only things you really need to buy for this costume would be the cat ears and tail. These can be purchased at your local mall, Halloween store, or even grocery stores. Super easy and simple. And still able to look super cute for that Halloween party you have marked on the calendar.

2. Mermaid

Want to be inspired by Ariel from "The Little Mermaid?" Well, this simple and easy costume is just for you. The only work that really is required for this is having the skills to do some great underwater makeup. The outfit for this is pretty simple as well. The only clothing needed for this would be a bathing suit top or a bra bedazzled in shells or beads and a green skirt that you could cut at the bottom to flow more like a tail. If you want to add more to it, you could by adding things to your hair or body to make it look more realistic.

3. Unicorn

Always dreamed of wanting to be that magical creature you see in the fairy tales? Well now is your chance to be one with this simple costume idea. All that is needed for this is a bunch of sparkly clothing that matches and a handmade horn for your head and ears. Then you are transformed into a unicorn.

4. Rosie the Riveter

Want to show some girl power, then this is the one for you. This costume again is super simple and odds are you have most of these things in your closet, too. So, this is less money you have to spend on Halloween. All the things needed for this would be a red bandana, jeans, and a jean shirt tied at the bottom.

5. Holly Cow / Oh Deer

Need a costume for you and your bestie, but don't know what to do? Here is a perfect idea. For the Holy Cow, dress up like a cow and add wings and a halo. Wear black pants or make a black and white shirt, buy a halo or make one using a headband, pipe cleaners, and hot glue. Add purchased wings to finish up the look. Next, for the Oh Deer, wear all brown: brown leggings, pants, tights, or dress, and make horns out of tree branches. Add the "Oh" part with paper that you can pin onto the pants of your outfit.

6. Olaf

Want to do something that is from "Frozen" yet you don't want to follow the crowd and be the princesses? Then I have you covered with an Olaf costume. This super simple costume only needs a few things and will take little time to make. Get a little black hat. Get a white shirt and add black circles to it. Add black pants, and make a white tulle skirt.

7. Greek Goddess

With this simple outfit, you can look super, just like if you were to spend $50 or more on an outfit from a Halloween store. All you would need is a white sheet wrapped around you. Add gold ribbon to the waist and get a gold headband to wear. You could even spice it up more by getting gold temporary tattoos to really pull off the look, all for super cheap.

8. Mary Poppins

Have a love for the Disney movie? Well, now you can be that character. All that you need for this costume is a knee length skirt, black tights, black heels, umbrella, white shirt with a collar, red bow tie, hat, and a bag. Now you have been transformed into Mary Poppins, herself.

9. Red Riding Hood

With this simple outfit, you will be ready for your Halloween party in no time. All you need is a little black dress, shoes to match, and a red cape and basket. Then you are all set.

10. Audrey Hepburn

Want to look classy and bring back old-school glamor? Well, now you can with this simple costume. All you need is a little black dress, a string of pearls, and big, black sunglasses.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
