Cracking the Mysteries of "Miss A."

Greetings, world! I have been presented with a lovely opportunity to produce content for this rocking platform, and man am I pumped. So that you can get a vibe of who I am, I wanted to present a post that gives you interesting tidbits about myself. Please enjoy reading my selfish post, and be on the lookout for my future articles.

1. Lax Longboarder

When I have the time, I love to longboard, the passion instilled by my classic skateboard at the beginning of high school. I attempted to learn tricks and grow in skill with the whole skateboarding thing. But, sadly, I just never perfected it. So I took up longboarding, and I am way better at it. I stick some rad music in my ears then cruise for miles. My senior year of high school I thought it would be a great idea to use my skateboard like a longboard to go down a steep hill. I picked up some sick speed, which was pretty awesome, but as the bottom of the hill quickly approached, so did an incoming car. I started to freak out a little bit and tried to stop, but I was going too fast. My two options were either running straight into the car or running into the grass. I chose the bright green grass, but the nasty gray curb chose me. I ate the gravel and slid across the road right in front of two little girls hosting a lemonade stand. Unaware of the gallons of blood dripping from my mouth and nose, I instantly stood up and looked for my board and my phone. I was not even mad -- until I remembered that prom was in three weeks....Unfortunately, that is my only gnarly skating story. If you see me out on the streets, #EatMyGravel and #KissMyWheels!

2. Cars, Cars, and Cars

Modifying cars is intriguing to me because the possibilities are endless. I have not performed too much work myself, but I love learning and hearing people talk about the work done on their cars. I desire to pick an abnormal car and stance it. I have some knowledge of what works and looks clean under my belt due to YouTube, Instagram and countless car meets. In addition to modifications, I would like to think I am a race car driver. My Dodge Caliber may seem like no match for you, but I have the skill that will lead me to flash my hazards in front of you. Currently, my dream car is an Audi R8 Spyder v10 w/ a front spoiler, revised side skirts, prominent rear wing, carbon fiber accents and 20-inch alloy wheels. Realistically, I want a Subaru WRX STI with some air ride suspension. I could talk cars all day, but that's enough for now.

3. Where Did "Miss A" Come From?

This summer I worked at a Boys and Girls Club and my kids started calling me Miss A. I totally dig it, so now I use it for everything because it sounds lowkey cool. I wish it could be my teacher name. Oh, yeah -- about that. I am pursuing my Bachelor's degree in elementary education. The plan is to continue after graduation and either get my Masters in ESL and teach internationally or pursue mechanical engineering because race car, remember? Halfway joking about the race car part. Although, I am very pumped to be a teacher. My goal is to provide an education to children who would otherwise not have it. I want to provide hope to my students and expect the best out of them. After all, every child needs a champion. I want to love and build them into contributing humans for society. I feel called to teach, and I feel that my spiritual gift is to work with children. My summer job has taught me patience and so much more to prepare me for my future.

4. Sailor's Soulmate

My best friend, who happens to be my boyfriend, is in fact, a member our the United States Navy. We started officially dating right before I moved 3.5 hours away for college. I was that girl who went home every other weekend, if not every weekend. But I had a great reason to do so. Hanging out and adventuring to new places with him on the weekends was what motivated me to get through the week. Three-ish months into college, my hardworking man left for boot camp. He then was transferred to his training school, and then assigned to a ship. We have endured a couple under ways and so much more. But through all of our "growing up, " we have been there for each other. A lot of firsts happened this past year, but I could not agree with him more on the fact that we are a great support system for each other. I don't depend on him. He does not depend on me. We don't complete each other. Instead, we complement each other and enhance the partnership of life. I love being his gal pal, and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us. (P.S. Pray for those serving our country in all branches! Also, send them mail because they really, really like that.)

5. Stained Glass Window

You know those fancy church windows that have multiple pieces which fit together to complete one image? That's me! Or, I would like to think so. We are all a mess, but I know I am one big mess. A lot of experiences have shaped who I am, but the most important one would be when I was rescued by my Savior, Jesus. I was heading down a dark path, but by grace, I was saved. Because of my faith, I know that everything happens for a reason. I also firmly believe that God is in control, and He is there to carry me when I cannot walk. I am a beautiful masterpiece because I was formed by the Creator.

6. The Rest of Me...That I Want to Uncover

1) I love EDM and pop music. I constantly dance to whatever is in my ears, which happens almost always. If you yell my name across campus and I do not respond, I am not ignoring you. I just play my music really loudly.

2) I love writing letters and sending mail.

3) Snap goes my camera. I love recording and taking pictures, then compiling them into vids.

4) I was a bridesmaid in my past roommate's wedding. She looked gorgeous!

5) Roller coasters are exhilarating, and I love 'em.

6) I love buying water bottles, backpacks, socks and stickers. My parents say I have an obsession.

7) Driving long distances is a hobby now because I do it often. I like it because when you are driving you are living in the moment instead of past or the present.

8) I need to live on a beach because the water clears my face, I am more fit, and it is just beautiful.

9) I love my Atlee. (Sexy sailor boyfriend of mine)

10) I am very thankful for my family because they have dealt with my summer meltdowns.

Well, that is all I want you to know for now, which, sadly, is just about everything. I hope you liked reading my rambles about my life. I am highly excited to write every week. If you ever have any suggestions or want to see my viewpoint on a topic, please let me know. Thank you for reading my selfish article. I hope you have a spontaneous day/evening/night. Peace out!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
