Earlier this month, CoverGirl signed a new spokesmodel to their arsenal of glamorous endorsers. Known for signing beautiful, celebrity women such as Katy Perry and Queen Latifa, CoverGirl has decided to break into a new segment: men. James Charles, a 17-year-old makeup fanatic from New York, has officially been signed to CoverGirl as their first male spokesmodel and has even been assigned to CoveGirl's campaign "So Lashy!" mascara next month.

CoverGirl had this to say about selecting Charles as their newest spokesmodel:

"All of our COVERGIRLs are role models and boundary-breakers, fearlessly expressing themselves, standing up for what they believe, and redefining what it means to be beautiful. James Charles is no exception...One year ago, he boldly chose to launch his Instagram to the world, using transformative, dynamic makeup looks to showcase the many facets of his personality, serving as an inspiration to women, men, guys and girls who might have been afraid to do the same."

James Charles is no stranger to being a topic of much conversation, especially after his senior pictures re-take went viral on Twitter. Apparently, Charles wasn't particularly thrilled with the way his original pictures came out, so he brought his own lighting set up to the shoot.

Between male makeup artists, drag superstars, and men who just like wearing makeup , men, in one way or another, have been doing makeup for years. But, even given this, they've had little to no representation in the mainstream makeup industry until very recently. Although James Charles is not the first man to don high-coverage foundation and a "poppin" highlighter, his inclusion as a CoverGirl spokesmodel is an impressively momentous step for the makeup industry.

Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
