Stop Waiting Around For A Sign And Just Do It

Too often people miss out on opportunities because they were too busy searching for a sign. Well...there is no sign.

Here you are sitting in your room, back to the wall, not really sure where to go. A heavy decision or opportunity is being presented to you.

You're torn and unsure of which path to take so you're searching for a sign, really anything to tell you that now, is the time. You're stressed but you have to be sure this is the move to make, that this is the next correct step.

Unfortunately, this answer is never coming. There is never going to be a clear solution, and as long as you continue to stress the "what ifs" in your life, you really will never take that right action.

A professor once said to me, "In life, the universe will open doors for you a few times. It is up to you to have the vision, the foresight, and the courage to walk through that door before it closes. And believe me, if you stand around, it will close", and immediately this resonated with me, it was true.

Time waits for no one. If you sit around and wait for something or someone else to tell you what to do, you will miss the chance before you even get to take it. This is always easier said than done, as the root of anxiety is uncertainty, but hesitation will only slow you down.

When faced with any situation, make your decision and move forward. Obviously, it is important to take a second to weigh out your options, but don't take too much time on that either. Anything can change in the blink of an eye.

Some doors stay open for a while, while others take only a split second to slam shut. If you're constantly focusing on an endless list of "what ifs", you won't even realize that it's too late until it's actually too late.

Next time you are faced with a decision, think for a second, go with your decision, and move forward. Wanting a sign is the sign itself, and the only one you will truly get.

Nobody is going to come to knock on your door and let you know that this is the moment designed to change your path. Too many opportunities will go wasted and the cycle of "what ifs" will only pile up. At the end of the day your path will work itself out, but you can only build from what you have. Now is the time to pick yourself up and keep it moving forward.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
