Summer equals country concert season. Nothing is better then hanging out with some friends, having an ice cold beer and listening to the sound of summer. Being a country girl, I have attended numerous country concerts. I have learned the ins and outs of tailgating from what to bring to what to wear. Here are 10 ways to improve your country tailgating experience.

1. Always Bring A Flannel

Even if it is a hot summer day always remember to bring a flannel. It does not only fit in and look totally awesome with the country atmosphere, but it also serves as a light sweater for when the sun goes down and could get a little chilly.

2. Jean Shorts

What says country more then denim? Wearing jean shorts to your country tailgate gives you the ability to dance like no one is watching and to climb up on your country boys truck, without the worry of holding your dress down. They also give your legs the room to breath from the hot sun beating down on you all day long. Try to find a pair that has a couple rips in them to make them more "country" looking.

3. Cowboy/girl hat

Nothing is more fun then dancing around with your cowgirl hat and stealing your cowboys hat off his head to mess around. You could also wear a baseball cap as well. The hats are not only meant to look awesome and to let people know you take your country music seriously, but it keeps the sun off your face so you do not get sunburnt during the day.

4. Cowgirl Boots

If you really want to make your tailgate experience awesome wear some cowboy/ girl boots. They fit in to the country atmosphere and also give off the impression that you love your country.

5. Have a great group of friends

A great group of friends is what makes or breaks your tailgate. You want to surround yourself with fun, outgoing, and energetic people. You want to make sure that your tailgate is full of positive vibes and tons of fun.

6. Speakers

You want to make sure you have a set of speakers that are loud enough to hear outside. It is also a very important piece to your tailgate because you do not want to run your car the whole time you are there and waste your gas and or your battery.

7. Portable Grill

Because you will be at the tailgate all day you are going to want to eat something. What is more country then a BBQ. You can either have a charcoal or gas grill. The grill does not have to be huge, just big enough to fit in your car and to be able to grill a few hamburgers or hotdogs.

8. Drinks and A Cooler

You are going to be in the sun all day long. You want to make sure you are keeping yourself hydrated. From water or gatorade or your alcoholic beverage of choice. Also make sure you have a cooler so that your drinks are nice and cold and refreshing.

9. Jeep or A Truck

Having a Jeep or a truck is not necessary to make your tailgate experience awesome but if definitely does help. What is more country then a American made Jeep or truck. This can make your tailgating experience ten times better because you can climb up on your jeep or truck and dance around and have fun.

10. Portable Toilet

This is a huge factor in making your tailgate experience the best it can be. I know you might be thinking "a toilet...really". But yes, a toilet. You do not want have to wait on lines up to a half hour to use the bathroom. By just having a bucket and a tent you can make yourself a nice enclosed personal bathroom.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
